My future application

One of my main goals as a teacher is to instill a love of learning in students with the hope that they will grow up
into adults who continue to seek out learning opportunities and will carry with them the curiosity and enthusiasm
for learning that young children have. Soon I will be receiving my master’s degree in education, but instead of
seeing this as endpoint, I consider this to be simply a step in my own development as a lifelong learner.

Continuing my education was an easy choice for me; I am one of those people who genuinely enjoy school. I love
the challenge of beginning a new class and the satisfaction of completing each assignment. Now that my
structured learning environment with MSU is coming to an end, I consider the ways that I can continue to learn on
my own. I am certain that in addition to attending educational seminars and workshops, and completing courses
required for licensure, I will also continue to seek out learning opportunities in the future which will help me to
grow as a teacher, a mother, and as an individual.

As a teacher, I will continue to develop my knowledge of pedagogy and of the content I am teaching. In addition,
each group of students presents a teacher with unique complexities and opportunities. If I have a child in my class
with an exceptional ability, or a learning challenge, I will make it my goal to become a professional on that topic in
order to best help that student and future students with similar needs.

Having completed a degree completely online has opened my eyes to the possibilities available for learning, and
what a classroom can look like. Before beginning this program, I questioned the quality of education that could be
received online, and only chose the online master’s program because there was no university offering a similar
program near where I live. I was very pleased to learn that MSU provides a high quality, challenging, online
program, which even includes extensive use of groups and teamwork through online wikis, discussion forums and
chatrooms. In addition, this program has taught me a lot about utilizing technology and about the many tools
available online for teaching and learning like Glogster EDU, TeacherTube, TodaysMeet, Voicethread, and
Wikispaces, just to name a few.

My own learning experience through this program reflects where education is headed for students; more and
more technology is becoming available for classroom use, and students who have grown up in this digital world are
increasingly inspired to learn when they are provided with appropriate technology for learning. The courses I have
taken have taught me that even things like iPods and Facebook can be appropriate, motivational tools for learning
if utilized in creative ways by teachers. Technology is constantly changing and it is impossible to keep up to date
with every new form of technology available. Instead, it is my goal to stay current as much as possible with new
technology, and more importantly, to find and learn to use the types that will be most beneficial and motivational
for each group of students that I am working with.

As a mother, I am also constantly learning. Primarily I learn just by observing and playing with my children and
being open to what they have to teach me. But I am also often reading books about parenting and discussing ideas
with other parents. I consider being a mom to be my “job” for now, and just like with any job, I want to be the best
at it that I can possibly be. I always tell people that I am not a housewife; I did not take time off of my career to
clean my house, I took this time to be a mom. I will know that I have done a good job if my kids are happy, polite
and considerate, and curious and eager to learn about the world around them.

My oldest son was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome last year, and recently with Sensory Processing Disorder
as well. Upon receiving each diagnosis, I began reading and learning everything I could about these conditions. I
still have so much to learn, but my understanding of my son and my ability to help him is constantly improving. Life
can often be challenging for him, and for us, but my hope is to help him to always be proud of who he is and to
guide him towards overcoming the obstacles in his life presented by having Aspergers and SPD. My experience
with my son has also increased my interest in learning about all types of special needs, and my compassion for
children who are experiencing them. It is possible that someday I might even decide to pursue a degree in special
education.

Two of my personal interests are traveling and reading. I love learning about new places by traveling and visiting
museums and historical landmarks in other cities. I particularly love international travel and experiencing other
cultures, tasting new foods, and getting to know the people wherever I am. I learn so much about the world.
However, having two young children inhibits my ability to travel for the time being, so instead I use books to
experience the world for now. I usually try to rotate between reading easy, popular books, and reading books
which have more depth and cause me to think deeply about a new subject.

I am certain that throughout my life, my interests and motivations for learning will change, but I am equally certain
that I will always continue to encounter new things that I want to learn more about.

eaching in general is a science that require, a lot of quality, dedication, responsability and

understanding between the teachers and the student to be most effective. Every teacher has special

advantages and strength to communicate his knowledge to the student. Althought try to hide their

weaknesses in front of the students, they are liable and accountable for their action and the way to

they teach.

A good teacher has assets like: Knowledge, loves teaching, fair, strict, understanding,

funny, caring, creative, sincere, open minded, professional, responsible, flexible, patient,

respectful. Knowledge: is one of my major concern because if I don’t have it, for me will be

imposible to teach something that I do not know ; it is like cheating to my self and to the student

as well. Loves teaching: The main reason that I have choosing this profession is because I love

children and I like to give and small contribution to their future. Fairness: Be fair with the students

will be very important part of my teaching to be suscefull. My students may ask questions without

hesitation and not be afraid to be embarrased. Also I most be strict, respectfull and severe with the

student to accomplish a good job in the art of teaching, mutual respect may me able to gain the

control of my class.

Teachers have liabilities by the way their teach and the concept of his explanations like :

morality, economic, political concepts etc. Political concepts: I most be very carefull about
political concept because that’s will define the future of possible government official.

Economics: is a reflections of the teacher personality that indicate how a person like me with and

honest profession can survive and subsists normally. Weaknesses is a bad part of the human no

matter what profession they make a living, the examples of weaknesses can be : lack of interest,

lack of knowledge, lack of respect.

I want children to learn in a safe and comfortable environment so that their self-esteem will be
increased. A high self-esteem will enable them to strive for and accomplish any goals they set for
themselves. As a teacher, I will play a part in helping them to do that. I will have the privilege of
shaping future parents and productive members of society. For all of these reasons, I ask myself, what
better job could there be. My answer is none because teaching is more than a job. It is an important
contribution I can make to better our society, and I am excited about the opportunity to do so.
