BELT PULL CALCULATIONS

1. First the Tight Side and the Slack Side Effective Tensiosns T1e and T2e have to
be worked out using the formulae given. 440

Formulae 300
Tight Side Effective Tension = (5 x 1000 x kW) / (4xGxSxB) kg 132000
293.3333
Slack Side Effective Tension = ( ( 5 - 4G)x1000xkW) / (4xGxSxB) kg

ENTER THE INPUTS :

BELT SPEED ( S= dxN / 19100) 6.91 m/sec

Formulae
Tight Side Effective Tension = (5 x 1000 x kW) / (4xGxSxB) kg

Slack Side Effective Tension = ( ( 5 - 4G)x1000xkW) / (4xGxSxB) kg

RESULTS
T1e 7307.93 KG Tight Side Effective Tension

T2e 1520.05 KG Slack Side Effective Tension

2. Belt Speed can be calculated using the formula S = d X N /19100,

where 'd' is the pulley PCD & 'N' is speed of the same pulley.

3. Weights of both pulleys to be physically measured or calculated..

4. The drive confirguartion is then drawn out to scale. While the weights of
the pulleys act vertically downwarda, the Tight Side and Slack Side Tensions
act in the direction of belts as shown in the enclosed sketch.

5. By drawing all the three forces in thie respective direction, the Resultant Force
is to be measured from the drawing.

6. The sketch may drawn in the scale of 1 cm = 100 Kg
