Stimulating NMAHP Research Capability at UHCW

RD&I are intending to offer nurses, midwives, allied health professional (NMAHPs) and
scientists access to research opportunities. Such opportunities will provide you with new
challenges, enable you to have a positive impact on future treatments as well as help to
increase the research profile of the Trust. Research opportunities will include options to study
for postgraduate qualifications e.g. Postgraduate Certificate in Health Research. However in
order to enable us to put structures in place to support and increase the levels of research
activity, we first need to determine current activity levels.

Specifically, we are trying to determine the number of staff who:

1) Have undertaken or are undertaking research degrees (MRes, MPhil or PhD) in the last 5
years
2) Are carrying out their own evaluations or research but who are not undertaking formal
qualifications
