REGIONAL SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (SHS) MASS TRAINING OF TEACHERS (MTOT) ON
‘ACADEMIC TRACK
To: Schools Division Superintendents
41. Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 84, 5. 2017 entitled Senior High School Training of
‘Teachers for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, DepEd Region V through the Curriculum
‘and Learning Management Division and in coordination with the Human Resource Training
land Development Division (HRDD) and the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) will conduct
the Regional Senior High School (SHS) Mass Training of Teachers on Academic Track on
the following dates at venues to be announced later:

2. The regional training aims to provide teachers with concrete understanding of the
‘curriculum frameworks, learning standards and competencies, teaching plans and
assessment It also aims to promote a culture of collaborative learning among the Senior
High School teachers.
3. The participants to this activity are the newly-hired and untrained Senior High School
teachers in Academic, identified trainers/faciitators, invited resource speakers and the
regional training management team from the Curriculum and Learning Management Division
(CLMD), Human Resource and Development Division (HRDD) and the Quality Assurance
Division (QAD). Senior High Schoo! teachers and borrowed JHS teachers who attended
the MTOT on content last year should no longer participate in the training.
4, School principals/department heads should ensure that classes left behind by the
teachers attending the training are handled by other teachers or leaming activities are
provided by the concerned teachers,rsonnel who will participate in the regional training are entitled to service
credits for training days which fall on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays in accordance with
the provisions of DepEd Order No. 19, s. 2011 and DepEd Order No. 53, s. 2003 entitled
Updated Guidelines on the Grant of Vacation Service Credits to Teachers. On the other
hhand, non-teaching personnel including the management staff shall be provided with
Compensatory Time-Off (CTO) as per Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Department of
Budget (OBM) Joint Circular No. 2, 2004
6. The training is a live-in activity. All participants are expected to observe the following:
a. Register at 3:00 PM on Day 0;
b. Attend the Opening and Closing Programs;
. Take note that the schedule of the first meal is dinner of Day 0 and the last meal is
afternoon snacks of Day 5/Day 7;
4. Present their authority to travel signed by the Schools Division Superintendent or
‘Assistant Schools Division Superintendent. Those who are not in the confirmed
list of participants shall only be accommodated if endorsed by the SDS or ASDS
as replacement participants;
€. Attend all sessions on time. Early leavers and those who fail to submit training
Outputs shall receive certificates of appearance only;
{. Come in proper attire and observe proper decorum throughout the duration ofthe
training;
(9. Bring soft copies of the Curriculum Guides ofthe subjects under their leaming
area;
1h. Bring their own laptops and extension cords; and
i. Bring maintenance medicine (for participants under medication).
7. The Senior High School (SHS) trainers and the training management team should be at
the venue a day before the activity for a conference and other concems. The first meal to be
served is dinner of Day 0 and the last meal is p.m. snack of the last scheduled date.
8. Board and lodging of the participants, training management staff and trainers/facilitators,
honoraria of resource speakers, supplies and materialsitraining kits shall be charged against
downloaded Human Resource Training and Development (HRTD) Funds while travel
‘expenses of the management staff and trainers/faciltators and the teacher-participants shall
be charged against local funds, subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and
regulations.
