QUESTION PAPER SET

1. Compute the stress and deflection in simple truss as shown in figure. Use appropriate analysis software.

2. Compute the stress and deflection in cantilever beam as shown in figure

3. Compute the stress and deflection in simply supported beam as shown in figure.
4. Compute the stress and deflection in fixed beam as shown in figure.

5. Compute the stress and deflection in rectangular plate as shown in figure

6. Compute the stress and deflection in axy symmetric component as shown in figure.
7. Compute the thermal stress and deflection in rectangular plate as shown in figure.

8. Solve the 2-D heat conduction problem for the temperature distribution within the rectangular plate.

9. Solve the 2-D heat convection problem for the temperature distribution within the rectangular plate.

10. Determine the model analysis and deflection in cantilever beam as shown in figure.
11. Determine the model analysis and deflection in simply supported beam as shown in figure.

12. Determine the model analysis and deflection in fixed beam as shown in figure.

13.Conduct a harmonic forced response test without damping by applying a cyclic load at the end of beam as
shown in figure. The frequency of the load will be 0 -100 Hz.

14. Conduct a harmonic forced response test with damping of 0.1 by applying a cyclic load at the end of
beam as shown in figure.
15.Find the various modes of frequencies for the given 2D component in Figure. All dimensions are
in mm.

16.Perform a simulation of an air conditioning system with condenser and evaporator temperatures
as input to get COP using C/MAT Lab. Assume suitable variables.

17.Perform a simulation for the working of a double acting cylinder for any one application using
C/MAT Lab.

18. Explain the step by step procedure for performing the simulation of cam and follower
mechanism as shown in figure. Also perform the simulation using C/MAT Lab.

19. Perform a conduction analysis for temperature distribution on the block which is constrained as
shown in the Figure 13. Thermal conductivity (k) of the material is 10 W/m°C and the block is
assumed to be infinitely long.

20. Simulate the graphic function of one variable and two variable using C/ MATLAB.
