Item Description

PREAMBLE TO BILL OF QUANTITIES

Tenderers are reminded that the works carried out under this Contract require
pedestrian and vehicular access areas along all adjacent roads to be maintained at all
times as indicated in Volume A, Preliminaries and Contract Conditions.

The Contractor is deemed to have included in the rates for undertaking the works and
providing the necessary equipment to meet the requirements of the Contract.

The Contractor is to allow in his rates/prelims for access equipment to enable all
repairs/decoration to be carried out externally to brickwork and timber also to internal
decoration.

It is deemed included that the Contractor shall have allowed in his rates for the
delivery, including transportation, storage and handling the items.

The location of the site is such that there are restrictions on the weight and
dimensions of plant accessing the site. It is deemed, included that the contractor has
allowed for such restrictions in determining the nature of plant which is to be used on
the works. Furthermore, the limited access suffers from congestion at peak times and
the contractor should allow for this in his rates.
