1.2.2 Ingot Contamination
The moulds are coated with a canola oil spray prior to casting, and the ingots may show some residue of this oil,
or its combustion products. They may also acquire some residue of any oil leakage in the system that found its
way to the moulds. This residue will be confined to small areas and will not affect the performance of the
product during the remelting process or any subsequent processing.
