` The Issue of Global Warming

Global warming, a subject that has been everywhere nowadays, the media, the

government, celebrities ,and scientists. Yet such a topic is also one of the most controversial in

our nation today. Second only to President Trump. While the belief in global warming has been

the topic of political debate over the past few decades, to many scientists the subject is an

absolute fact. The Democrat party, in general, believes in global warming and believes that the

United States of America should take efforts in order to assist in curbing the effects of

greenhouse gases and the destruction of the ozone layer. While the Republican party, in general,

believes that the concept of global warming is a leftist nonsense, take Alex Jones for example.

While others just do not care enough to take a side on the argument. Yet if you look at a photo,

one taken a decade ago in the same location, at the same time, you can see that things have

indeed have changed with the weather. Within this essay, there shall be a clear and precise stance

to the issue of global warming.

While many scientists believe in global warming, many others do not believe in the

theory. One such argument for the latter is the fact that the ice ages. Every century experiences

different weather patterns. For example the 1800s was a miniature ice age. While in the 1900s

there was an increasing temperature from that ice age in the 19th Century. Here we are in the

21st Century with temperatures continuing to rise. The theory with those whom do not believe in
global warming is that we are just going through another cycle until we once again reach another

miniature ice age. Meanwhile, those who believe that global warming exists feel that the event is

occuring due to human actions and must be stopped at all costs. Nations such as China and the

European Union (nations within) are currently taking actions in order to reduce their carbon

footprint.

A major recent stepback for those who believe in global warming, was the Paris Climate

agreement that President Trump declined in joining. This is a major stepback as the leading

superpower of the planet is not working with the international community. This is a concern to

many countries and their people as global warming is no one countries problem. If such an issue

becomes too great to monitor and control then everyone on our planet would be in trouble. The

amount of water increase within our oceans would be at an increase of seventy meters. This

would sink most, if not all of the world's cities by the coast. Yet this seems like an issue that will

not be happening within the near future. Perhaps in the future, yes, but not within the near future

unless someone does something stupid. Now, with President Trump refusing to take action on

global warming, along with political tensions, who knows what is to come from these situations?

How much would the Earth change if all the water melted. Well, us Americans here in

Utah would be fine relatively speaking. The aftermath would be the kicker for people who are

not in direct contact with the affected areas. There would be a massive refugee crises all around

the world. Millions if not billions of people would be displaced. While nearly everyone in the

world would be affected. Some civilizations in island nations whom are isolated or refuse to

move would be wiped from the face the Earth. This would be a shame as many of such isolated

cultures are not well recorded which means that there would not be much history on them. Now,
the economy of the world would be in shatters. While those whom control resources would be in

a hell of a situation as they have resources that people want. These people being angry. Angry

people who want something that you have is a bad situation to be in. In the end if global

warming does melt all of the ice on the planet, we would be in a very poor situation.

Yet the opponents of the global warming activists claim that there are weather patterns

that have occurred throughout history and we are currently experiencing such a pattern. Now,

these claims are true, weather patterns have shown ups and downs throughout history. Ice ages

and ages of intense heat have occured in history. The people and scientists who support such a

theory that humanity causing global warming is false have less support in general than those who

agree that humanity is causing global warming.

Overall, I believe that humanity is partially responsible for global warming, along with

the pattern humanity is releasing so much carbon into the atmosphere which has been confirmed

to have damaged it. You can also compare images taken in the same time of a year at several

decades apart and see the difference in snow. Such as here in Salt Lake on the mountains. This is

a threat that must be addressed. I feel the best way to curb the heating of our planet would be to

regulate factories and car exhaust. Good day to you.
