Because of MOM, Ja’Niya and Amarianna entered and won a writing
scholarship contest. Teachers at MOM helped them showcase their
writing skills.
Because of MOM, our dedicated board members, donors, teachers,
and volunteers leave legacies that empower Indiana’s future
leaders today.
Because of MOM, Nakyla
excels as a Wenger Scholar.
Fred Wenger’s desire to
help children led him to
volunteer at Motivate Our
Minds, and his award pays
tuition at Motivate our
Minds for up to three
semesters.
Because of MOM, students learn self-sufficiency, life skills, and
leadership skills through Scout Reach, our scouting programs for
both boys and girls.
Because of MOM, Landa and Tiara love taking violin lessons and participating
in the financial literacy class (where they invest real dollars). These sisters take
advantage of every program MOM offers including cheerleading, cooking club,
garden club, and spelling club.
Because of MOM, Jaedyn has become a master chess player. He developed an interest
in the game when he found a board in our room and taught himself the basics
alongside some of his classmates. We recruited a chess volunteer who plays chess
with him every week. When asked about his favorite part about chess, he replied,
“winning.”
Because of MOM, Angela and Emily are now fluent in English and feel at
home after moving to Muncie from Mexico. The sisters enjoy learning
recipes from cooking club to share with their family.
Because of MOM,
Chyna works hard on
her schoolwork every
day, and it shows in her
grades. She is a proud
member of the
cheerleading squad, Girl
Scouts and Spelling
Club. Chyna won our
first annual MOM
Spelling Bee this spring.
Because of MOM, Alyssa, a Ball State student, has watched
students grow and flourish over the past three years. She enjoys
the environment at MOM and loves helping students from all
backgrounds.
Because of MOM,
Maury, Jeffrey, and
Zavier grow beautiful
gardens, learn about
nutrition and the
environment, and
become
entrepreneurs by
selling the fruits of
their labor at
Minnetrista
Because of MOM, Dr. Rebecca Brown involves her students in EDR 430 and
engages more with her community. She makes a difference in lives every day.

Because of MOM,

grade boys and girls

Community Schools. Our
cheerleading program
promotes collaboration

Because of MOM, the Burkhardt Gardens provide students the
opportunity to read outside and enjoy nature. Located in the courtyard
in the center of our campus, every person in our building enjoys garden
views year-round.

graduate high school.
MOM taught Z’hane

improved her grades,

say she is now a hard-
working and successful
college student at Ivy
Tech Community
College.
