RESEARCH RESPONDENTS

Research is made possible through the aid of the respondents. They are essential since
they help the researcher/s gather information, opinions and standpoints especially in qualitative
research. For this qualitative research, the respondents would be chosen via referral for
convenience purposes. In addition, it could help avoid confusions and intimacy between the
respondents and the researchers as well. Thus, it helps gather the concrete and exact
information taken from the respondents.
This study aims to investigate academic performance of students in regard to the
section where they belong. This is only exclusive for UCLM students specifically grade 11 STEM
students. To avoid biases and to achieve the goal of this study, we need to have 1 respondent
in each section from pilot up to the last section from both morning and afternoon shifts. There
are 9 sections in the morning shift and 10 in afternoon shift. So probably there would be 29
respondents in all for this study.
Respondents should voluntarily appoint themselves to the researchers so that
information could not be forcefully extracted. The researchers' possible respondents could be
those students whom they know or those that are referred to them. These respondents’ ages
are mostly ranging from 16-18 years old. Target interviewees are commonly come from various
schools near Mandaue City. To give example, these are the neighboring cities and towns like
Lapu-Lapu City, municipality of Consolacion or Llilo-an and the city itself where UCLM is located
