Understanding and Examples of Active and Passive Sentences in Detail

A. Sentence On

The active sentence is a sentence in which the subject (S) acts as an actor actively performing
an action expressed in predicate (P) to object (O)

example:

Characteristics of the active sentence:

1. In the active subject sentence performs a direct action on the object.

2. Predicate of active sentence always begins with affix of Me- or Ber-

3. There is an active sentence that requires an object

4. There is an active sentence that does not require an object. After getting the subject
predicate plus complement or description.

5. The Active Sentence has an S-P-O-K or S-P-K pattern

Types of active sentences:

1. Intransitive active sentence

The intransitive active sentence is an active sentence requiring an object that gets the action
from its subject.

My father = Subject

Giving me = Predicate

Object = Andi

in the above sentence, "Dad" which is the subject of doing an action to "Andi" which is the
object.

2. The sentence is active ekatransitive

This sentence requires an object but does not have a complement. In other words, this
sentence has only 3 elements: Subject, Predicate and Object.
