Introduction

The main topic of the work is “Canada and Australia".

My research will be done on the Internet.
My goals to make this project are: to get to know more of these countries and
have more culture.
I am sure that will be very interesting work because learning is essential.

3
Symbols & Monuments
Canada

The National War Memorial is situated in

Ottawa. It’s made of granite. This monument
was built to commemorate the sacrifice in the
First World War. Sacrifices are symbolized by a
series of bronze figures. These figures
represent people who went to war and fought
for world peace.

Canada’s flag is also known as the Maple Leaf.

It has a red field with a white square at its
centre. The red-white-red pattern is based on
the flag of the Royal Military College. The flag
was designed by George Stanley. The adoption
of the national flag of Canada was accepted with
many years of discussion, thousands of designs
and many debates in Parliament.

The CN Tower is a communications and

observations tower in Toronto. It was built. The
idea of the CN Tower originated when the
Canadian National Railway wanted to build a
large TV and radio communication platform to
serve the Toronto area. The CN Tower was
declared one of the modern Seven Wonders of
the World and it’s the 6th tallest free-standing
structure.

Notre Dame is a stone basilica situated in the old

historic Montreal. It’s dedicated to Mary, mother
of Jesus. The church served as the first cathedral
of the Diocese of Montreal. Its interior is colorful
and grand. It’s decorated with golden stars. The
windows are made of stained glass.

Australia
The Sydney Opera house is a performing arts
centre and concert hall. It was designed by an
architect Jorn Utzon. The building also houses a
recording studio, cafes, restaurants, bars and
retail outlets. It is admired internationally and has
earned a reputation as a world-class performing
arts centre and become a symbol of both Sydney
and the Australian nation.

The Coat of Arms is the formal symbol of the

Commonwealth of Australia. The shell is the
main part of the coat, it contains a symbol
representing each Australian state. At the top,
from left to right are represented: New South
Wales, Victoria and Queensland. At the bottom,
from left to right, are: South Australia, Western
Australia and Tasmania. The Red Kangaroo and
the Emu are the animals unofficial of the country.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of

Australia's most well-known and photographed
landmarks. It is the world's largest steel arch
bridge. Francis Greenway proposed building a
bridge from the northern to the southern shore of
the harbour. However, after the First World War
more plans were made, with a general design for
the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The construction
started in 1924 and ended in 1932.

The Australian War Memorial is the national

memorial in Australia to members of all its
armed forces and supporting organizations
who have died or participated in wars in which
the country was involved. It’s situated in
Canberra. The building was completed in
1941, after the outbreak of World War II. It was
officially opened following a Remembrance

Conclusion

I think my work is successful because I fulfilled my main goals.

The project took a few days to be done, because I also had things to do
than this.
I found monuments that I didn’t know they existed, and I learned more
about the lives of some celebrities.
I’m sure the next project will be even better!
