Executive Summary

This report consists of information and analysis of the man behind the success of
Leicester City Football Club in the 2015/2016 season, Claudio Ranieri. We analysed him
based on Mintzberg’s 10 managerial roles which is classified under three categories of
Informational, Interpersonal and Decisional. Claudio Ranieri was appointed as the manager
of Leicester City on the 13th of July 2015. He then progressed and did the unexpected, which
won his team the league in the same season he joined. Facts and examples of the analysis can
be seen in the main body of the report. The reports concluded that Claudio Ranieri has the
qualities and applied the 10 managerial roles well in order for him to achieve success with his
team in his first season in charge at the club. It is recommended that Leicester City Football
Club should do their very best in keeping him up by offering him a long-term contract to tie
him to the club so that they can achieve further success with the Italian mastermind.
