Standard Features
Cameron Superior quality frames are one-piece, ductile iron with a heavily ribbed casting and tie-bolt construction to provide long life for
your compressor. We insist that all parts must meet stringent quality standards, such as our split-shell, steel-backed, tri-metal main and
connecting bearings. The crosshead uses replaceable tri-metal shoes. Superior compressors allow up to 2% H2S without special trim.

C-Force SUPERIOR®
C-Force Specs
• Reciprocating, balanced opposed
to ±60 grams
• up to 580 hp
• 850-1800 rpm
• 1-4 cylinders
• 3 in. stroke (76 mm)
• 900 fpm (4.57 m/sec.) piston
speed @ 1800 rpm
• 26,000 lb. (116kN) total
gas rod load
Applications
• Compressed Natural Gas
The unique, couple-free design of the C-Force puts opposing compressor throws directly • Gas Gathering
in-line, decreasing the overall vibration. Another benefit to the couple-free design is the • Gas Boosting
diminished bending moment of the crankshaft, reducing crankshaft fatigue. The C-Force • Gas Processing
• Offshore Platforms
design also reduces the requirement for foundation mass. Compression flexibility is achieved
• Air
through a full line of tandem cylinders allowing up to four stages of compression on a two-
• FPSO
throw C-Force.
Standard Features
Standard features include the crankshaft made from forged or billet heat-treated SAE 4140
steel. The standard lubrication system contains a crankshaft gear-driven oil pump, system relief
valve, crankcase strainer, spin-on type full-flow oil filter, and filler/breather. The pressurized
suction cylinder lubrication system includes stainless steel tubing and fittings, divider block,
lubricator flow meter and no-flow shut-down.
Couple-Free Design
Connecting Rods The wide center rod
is equal in weight and strength to the
total of the two narrow rods.
Crosshead Pins These have
oil passages to provide pressure
lubrication. They are also bored out to
accommodate a selection of weights for
final balancing of the assembly.

RAM SUPERIOR®
RAM Specs
• Reciprocating, balanced opposed
to ±1 lb.
• up to 2375 hp
• 600-1500 rpm
• 1-4 cylinders
• 5 in. stroke (127 mm)
• 1250 fpm (6.35 m/sec) piston
speed @ 1500 rpm
• 80,000 lb. (358 kN) total
gas rod load
Applications
• Fuel Gas Boosting
• Gas Gathering
Cameron’s reciprocating, balance opposed RAM compressor contains a host of features that
• Gas Boosting
are standard only on the RAM. For example, the RAM has all air-cooled cylinders, valve spacers
• Gas Processing
on all cylinders 6.5 inches and above, and manual variable volume pockets on all cylinders as
• FPSO
standard equipment.
Standard Features
RAM standard features include a crankshaft made from forged or billet heat-treated SAE
4140 steel. For added strength and durability, the frame and crosshead guides are a one-piece
integral cast iron unit. Additional features include the crankshaft gear driven oil pump and
system relief valve, crankcase strainer and full-flow oil filter with replaceable filter element.
Bolts are SAE 4140 steel with rolled threads.

MH SUPERIOR®
MH6 Specs
• Reciprocating, balanced opposed
to ±1 lb.
• up to 5400 hp
• 600-1200 rpm
• 1-6 cylinders
• 6 in. stroke (152 mm)
• 104,000 lb. (463 kN)
total gas rod load
• 2.25 in. (57 mm) rod diameter
Applications
• Fuel Gas Boosting
• Gas Gathering
Cameron’s Superior MH is a dependable, hard working compressor that has been proven • Gas Boosting
over decades of service. With a full line of versatile cylinders — lined, unlined, air-cooled, • Gas Processing
water-cooled, lubricated or oil-free — the MH has the flexibility to meet the requirements of a • CO2
wide variety of applications. The MH frame can reach up to 5400 hp (4027 kW) at 1200 rpm • FPSO
and is designed to handle total gas rod loads of 104,000 lbs. (462 kN) safely and dependably.
Standard Features
The MH6 crankshaft is made from forged or billet heat-treated SAE 4140 steel designed for
strength and durability. The lubrication system contains a gear-driven oil pump, system relief
valve, crankcase oil breather, oil level sight gauge, divider block lubrication system, stainless
steel tubing and fittings, no-flow shutdown, and a flow meter for cylinder and packing
lubrication. Type C auxiliary distance pieces are available for the crosshead guide as an option
for corrosive gas service.

WH SUPERIOR®
Applications
The Superior WH is a close cousin to the MH and shares many standard features such as • Fuel Gas Boosting
• Gas Gathering
the frame, crankshaft, and bearing designs. It also shares an industry reputation for proven
• Gas Boosting
reliability. The WH was designed to handle higher gas rod loads — up to 130,000 lbs.
• Gas Processing
(582 kN) — making this compressor ideal for gas transmission and storage applications.
• Gas Transmission
The WH is available with either a six-inch or seven-inch stroke.
• Gas Storage
• CO2
Standard Features
• FPSO
To allow higher rod loads on the WH, the crossheads’ replaceable tri-metal shoes are
larger than on the MH. To assure safety and performance at higher rod loads, the WH
connecting rod is precision machined from SAE 1045 steel, heat-treated, and rifle drilled for
pin lubrication. Type C auxiliary distance pieces are available for the crosshead guide as an
option for corrosive gas service.
7
WG SUPERIOR®
Applications
The WG is the largest and strongest of the Superior compressors. This rugged compressor • Gas Gathering
• Gas Boosting
is designed to reach as high as 9000 hp (6714 kW) at 1200 rpm and 7500 hp (5595 kW) at
• Gas Processing
1000 rpm and is capable of handling high rod loads of 150,000 lbs. (672 kN). From the robust
• Gas Transmission
construction of the WG frame to the sturdy crosshead guide supports, everything on the WG
• Gas Storage
is designed for strength and durability.
• Gas Injection
• CO2
Standard Features
• FPSO
The crankshaft on the WG is open die forged from a solid billet of heat-treated ASTM A668
Class L steel, fully machined and balanced. The WG, like the WH, is available with a 6-inch
or 7-inch stroke. Type C auxiliary distance pieces are available for the crosshead guide as an
option for corrosive gas service.
