GUNA®-LUMBAR

Guna®-Lumbar is a homeopathic complex medicine in injectable ampoules, designed for

infiltration treatment of acute and chronic pain of different origins affecting the lumbosacral
vertebral column and adjacent tissues.

Along with the other medicines of Guna Laboratories “Pain Management” Range, Guna®-Lumbar
represents a new frontier in managing bone arthrosis and myofascial pain affecting the anatomical
structures of the lumbar area. Guna®-Lumbar ingredients work in synergy, so they act not only from
homeopathic pharmacological, neurological, immunological and endocrinal viewpoints but also
from an “energetic” point of view. Guna®-Lumbar has been studied in accordance with the laws of
Acupuncture and with the most recent knowledge acquisitions in Homeosiniatry (the connection
between the action of specific and definite homeopathic remedies and specific and definite
Acupuncture points or local pain points).

For a successful Guna®-Lumbar treatment, particular attention should be focused on a correct

Carefully selected ingredients and their unique combination allow Guna®-Lumbar to act first on all
the different and primary forms of acute and chronic inflammatory pain and secondly on
degenerative pain affecting the lumbosacral spine and the relevant muscles. Guna®-Lumbar
acts on pain of different origins, types and localization. Moreover, Guna®-Lumbar not only reduces
inflammatory symptoms but by acting on reflex causes and degenerative events, it also acts on the
etiological causes.

Based on the aforementioned considerations we could identify 4 different complementary action
Cores in Guna®-Lumbar working in synergy with each other as follows:

• 1st Core (P.N.E.I. analgesic Core): the concentration of 4C of β -Endorphin,
corresponding to the physiological concentration of this inhibiting neurotransmitter – both at
a central and peripheral level - is capable of sensitizing the cell receptors through up-
regulation mechanisms resulting in an enhanced analgesic action of endogenous β -
Endorphin.
• 2nd Core (anti-inflammatory Core): the action of Anti IL 1 α and β restrains the onset of
inflammatory episodes, these two interleukins being some of the main factors responsible
for the inflammatory process.

•Type – cramp-like
• 3rd Core (homeopathic analgesic Core): the remedies of this core have been selected
according to their different action on pain and especially on the basis of the different origin
(neuro-muscular: Bryonia, Alumina, Phosphoricum acidum; joint pain: Natrum

phosphoricum); mu

Alumina), localization (lumbosacral rachis: Hamamelis; reflex coming from the abdomen:
Sepia)

• 4th Core (anti-degenerative Core): it is well known that the rheumatic pathology is
accompanied by serious tissue degenerative conditions leading to a progressive functional
handicap. Moreover, like in a vicious circle, degeneration often supports inflammation and
vice versa. A correct therapeutic rationale acting on both symptoms and etiological causes is
to stop this mechanism. In lumbar pain, an essential role is played by the intervertebral disk:
the inflammation of pulp core, and its protruding condition leading to hernia or degenerative
conditions are often at the basis of lumbosacral pain. Furthermore, we should consider that
the main locus minoris resistentiae of the spine can be localized at the level of L4-L5 e L5-
S1 vertebra: the aim of a treatment – acting not only on symptoms - of lumbosacral pain is
to protect the disk at this level. Hence, Guna®-Lumbar contains Intervertebral disk, Porcine.

Uses: Lumbar pain due to cartilage degenerative lumbar spine disorders (lumbar and lumbar-sacral
arthrosis), Lumbar vertebral osteophytosis, Low back pain due to muscular and tendinous trigger
points (in association with GUNA®-MUSCLE), Simple lumbar pain (low back syndrome, in
association with GUNA®-MUSCLE), Weak low back syndrome, Postural low back ache, Lumbar
and lumbar-sacral mechanical imbalance, Lumbar and lumbar-sacral spinal ligament syndrome,
Sacro-iliac syndrome (in association with GUNA®-POLYARTHRITIS), Spinal lumbar and lumbar-
sacral nerve root pain (in association with GUNA®-NEURAL and/or GUNA®-ISCHIAL).
