ASSIGNMENT BOOKLET
UNIT 14
STRUCTURAL MECHANICS
Unit code: J/600/0228 Credit value: 10
This unit is internally assessed
In order to pass this unit, the evidence that the learner presents for assessment needs to demonstrate
that they can meet all of the learning outcomes for the unit. The criteria for a pass grade describe the
level of achievement required to pass this unit. Pass grade work is treated as formative assessment and
as such the student will receive feedback to enable a resubmission within one week to correct any errors
or omissions. Late work will only be accepted with a full completed mitigating circumstance form
attached.
Higher grade work is treated as summative assessment and hence may receive oral feedback in
tutorials but not once formally submitted. This means that there will be no resubmissions available
with higher grade work. Learners are expected to be largely autonomous when carrying out merit
grade work. The standard of English, grammar, sentence structure etc is expected to be synonymous
with the higher grade attempted. Higher Grade work will not be marked if it is submitted late.
