CHERRY BLOSSOMS / SAKURA

Cherry blossoms or sakura are cherry trees and their blossoms. Cherry trees are a symbol of
spring for Japanese people. Hanami or Flower viewing is a traditional custom in spring to visit
some places where sakura are blooming. Japanese people love cherry blossoms, but the origin
of this flower is debatable. Some people believe that the flower is from Japan but some others
believe that they came from either China or South Korea.

There are 400 different types of cherry trees. They mutate easily. Most of cherry blossom grow
in moist low and highland. A place with a little bit moist and protected from sunlight is the best
for their natural habitat.

The unique fact of cherry blossom is that their flowers which grow earlier than the leaves.
Cherry blossoms have many colors such as white, little pink, and red. Most of the flowers are
white or pink with five petals,

Elephants are large mammals of the family Elephantidae and the order Proboscidea. Two
species are traditionally identified, the African elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the Asian
elephant (Elephas maximus), although some evidence suggests that African bush elephants and
African forest elephants are separate species (L. africana and L. cyclotis respectively). Male African
elephants are the largest extant terrestrial animals and can reach a height of 4 m (13 ft) and weigh
7,000 kg (15,000 lb).

Elephants are herbivorous and can be found in different habitats including forests,
deserts, savannas, and marshes. They would rather stay near water. Females ("cows") tend to live
in family groups that can consist of one female with her calves or several related females with
offspring. The groups are led by an individual known as the matriarch, often the oldest cow. When
males ("bulls") reach puberty, they usually leave their family groups, and may live alone or with
other males. Elephants communicate by sound, sight, touch, and smell; elephants use infrasound,
and seismic communication over long distances. They can live up to 70 years in the wild.

Elephants are usually used as working animals in Asia. In the past they were used in war;
today, they are often exploited for entertainment in circuses or controversially put on display in
zoos. Elephants are greatly recognizable and have been featured in art, religion, folklore, literature
and popular culture.
