Dear Peers and Pros of NEXT High School,

I am writing to pitch a new position for NEXT High School; one which I hope to fill as a full-time
Pro. As I am certified in K12 Visual Arts, and as NEXT does not currently have an open position
entitled “Visual Arts Teacher”, I would like to apply to NEXT as a “Design Opportunity
Coordinator”.

Job Description:
● Develop and teach Design Thinking strategies with NEXT Peers and Pros to assist the
needs of i3 projects
● Coordinate community partnerships and outings which meet the needs of Peer i3 projects
and the vision of NHS
● Lead a curation team of Peers and Pros to communicate the successes, needs, growth,
and evolving vision of NHS
● Plan curriculum with Pros to assist in making meaningful, impact-oriented inter-curricular
connections
● Assist in connecting new technologies with curriculum and i3 projects
● Co-teach with Pros and develop new visual art and design connections within NEXT and
around the community

Based on my eight plus years in project and problem-based learning facilitation, I feel I’d be an
excellent fit at NEXT High School. I believe that peers shouldn’t wait to lead; that they should take
charge as often as possible and incorporate their passions to create impactful user-experiences,
services, and products as their own learning experiences. While I wouldn’t go as far as Jeff Bezos
to encourage teens to drop out of high school to pursue their entrepreneurial desires, I do
believe a healthy mixture of guided learning with serious student problem exploration and
solution building is the most important revolution in education I’ve had the pleasure to
experience. As much as I feel like I offer my students these opportunities in an otherwise
traditional setting, I look forward to talking to Peers and Pros about how I can bring my passions
and talents to the NEXT team as the Design Opportunity Coordinator.

I have attached my resume below.

Very Sincerely,
Ken Morrill

*Keyboarders, do not write a resume like I did below!
