SUMMARY

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health through Liberty University. B.A. in
Business Administration from Averett University. Presently serving as the Prevention Program
Director for Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) in New Orleans, LA. Retired in 2012 after
27 years of total service with the United States Marine Corps. Deployed in support of Operation
Enduring Freedom (2003) and the Global War on Terrorism (2004-2005). Personal Awards
include Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine
Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4).

EXPERIENCE

Marine Forces Reserve, Prevention Program Director


New Orleans, LA 3/2013-present

 Manages the prevention program for the Force.


 Manages the unit based Marine awareness and prevention integrated training (UMAPIT).
 Serves as the Regional Training Coordinator (RTC) for the Combat and Operational
Stress Control (COSC) program and manages the operational strength control and
readiness (OSCAR) training.
 Provides guidance to General level commanders on behavioral health issues affecting
their commands
 Works with the Commander, MARFORRES in drafting and implementing policy,
programs, and guidance on behavioral health issues which affect the Force.
 Coordinates prevention initiatives with MARFORRES stakeholders.
 Collects and analyze data concerning MARFORRES population as it pertains to BH
issues.
 Monitors the health of the Force (BH issues).
 Member of Suicide Prevention Working Group.
 Conducts inspections with the Commanding General’s Inspection Team to ensure proper
implementation of and compliance with the Suicide Prevention program.
 Provides briefs to Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) Marines during mobilization exercise
(IRR MOBEX).

Headquarters Marine Corps, Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Enlisted Plans Chief
Quantico, VA/10/2008-12/2012

 Works with Manpower Planner to monitor and manage the health of the Marine Corps
Reserves.
 Responsible for computation of quarterly promotion scores for Active Reserve (AR) and
Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR) Marines promotion to Corporal and Sergeant.
 Produces annual AR, SMCR and Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) promotion zones and
allocations for promotions to SNCO ranks.
 Provides combat meritorious promotion allocations for Reserve Marines
 Provides yearly meritorious SNCO special duty assignment (SDA) and non-SDA
assignments.
 Responsible for the implementation of SMCR and AR Enlisted Bonus program with a
total of $8.2 million for FY11.
 Serve as direct liaison with promotions branch on all AR, SMCR and IRR enlisted
promotion issues throughout the year.
 Provides briefs to promotion board members on issues pertaining to SMCR and AR
populations.
 Drafts MARADMINs providing guidance on Reserve incentive programs and incentives

Marine Forces Reserve, Marine Corps Community Services Admin Chief

 Served as the Administration Chief for MARFORRES MCCS.


 Provided support to all MCCS program managers.
 Managed the Single Marine Program for MARFORRES.
 Served as the liaison for the exceptional family member program (EFMP).
 Provided MCCS briefs to leadership of various levels as required.
 Served as the Government Purchase Credit Card approver for MCCS.
 Managed the independent unit funds program.
