Introduction

Philippines already implemented that K to 12 Curriculum Education, wherein one the

goals od Department of Education (DepEd) is to prapare the youths in the near future. "They are
planning to enter college without clear idea of what career to pursue for their future (Laguador,
2015)" likewise it is the same dilemma of the grade 10 students who would go to choose strand
for their grade 11. Pafili and Mylonakis (2011) emphasized that "incoming up with the right
decision of what profession to take, students can properly utilize their skills and knowledge to
gain proper experience who could contribute to the development and welfare of the society"
but Koni,Zainal, and Ibrahim (2012) noted that "some studies show that not all students who
enter a university have the intention to obtain the degree" also (Laguador,2015) "students are
not properly oriented as to what course to choose out of their interest and skills but because of
the thought that these courses will provide jobs in the future. More so, students are opt career
they think will give better paying job in the future" therefore it only shows that not all present
grade 11 students choose that specific strand because that is where their skills and personality
fit in but because there some students pick strand to become more practical in life, where they
can produce a big salary that will secure their future.

"Choosing and deciding on something have consequences. The results of what you have
chosen can either help you, it will hinder you in the future (Vallente, AlbiaGayosa, Dollaga,
Nobleza, n.d)." it inly shows that either the two factors would he/she going to consider, there
are still consequence waiting for them and it can be a good or bad effect and that consequence
can affect now in the students' perfirmance in school or in applying a job for the future. In the
journal (Harris,1980) "Making decision implies that there are choices to be considered, and in
such case we want only to identify as many of these alternatives as possible but to choose the
one that best fits with our goals, objectives, desires, values, and so on" he just want to say that
the best decision that he/she can do is that when they consider their desire and not the
alternative ways, yet it is not that bad to identify and pick the alternative ways he/she can do.
The decision on good career choice and school sometimes depend on how the way students
percieve the world and their future. (Laguador,2015) "Some of them may not have enough
knowledge and conciousness about how they should process information from personal, social,
economic, political, spiritual and environmental aspectsof putting into context and realization
of having a successful profession" that is why the DepEd conducted a lot of assessments,
seminar and activities like Career Guidance Program (CGP) to help the students to decide more
critically in choosing a strand because they already knew that a wrong choice can suffer a lot
regrets in life.

This paper had three objectives, [1] to know which students performance; improve,
maintain or decrease the productivity. [2] to know which of the two choices are usually
happening when choosing a strand. [3] to help the other students who would going to choose a
track considering that two factors.

Design

This paper is qualitative research wherein are going to apply the traingulation method.
(Cossman,2017) "Qualitative research is a type of social science research that collects and works
with non-numerical data and that seeks to interpret meaning from these data that help us
understand social life through the study of target population or place" meaning this study would
not encounter numerical data. (Kulkarin,n.d) "Triangulation means using more than one method
to collect data on the same topic bacause this is a way of assuring the collect data on the same
topic". Therefore, the most appropriate design for this paper is triangulation method because it
going to compare the students' performance before and their current grade which is grade 11.
The respondents for this paper is three to ensure the data we have collected and those three
are; students, parents, and their former grade 10 adviser and their in convent grade 11 adviser.
This paper design will help the paper become strong through showing the valid and different
data that been collected from the three respondents, and because of that this paper are now
able to meet the three goals that they been set for this paper.

Sampling Method

Non-probability sampling method is (Laerd,n.d) "Represents a group of sampling

techniques that help researchers to select units from a population that they are interested in
studying" meaning in this method the chace of getting respondents is not fair and become a
bias for not having 50:50 chance of getting for evereyone. The type of non-probability sampling
method we choose is a snowball. (Laerd,n.d) "Snowball sampling is a particularly appropriate
when the population you are interested in is hidded and/or hart-to-teach" or simply snowball is
use when your respondents or a particular person refer another respondents that they think the
researcher need for them to meet their papers goal. In this paper, the researcher going to ask
each adviser of HUMMS, ABM, AD and ask them to refer one student that they think well fit for
this research. Through referring of each adviser the sampling method of this paper become a
snowball. The target respondents for the paper are the one who is going to refer by the adviser
of each strand, and each strand the researcher are going to pick only one student which by the
adviser had been referred.
