Jesus is the True Lord Monday
John 21:20-25 Epistle Project: Romans 12:9-21

In the ESV this passage is titled Marks of the True

Christian and it should come as no surprise that love is
the first on the list. What Paul says is embraced by the
call Christians have to love. As Christians we are called
to love others. This includes or brothers and sisters in
Christ and our enemies. This means loving others through
good times and bad. This means loving others when they
agree or disagree with you. Make it a point to pray and
ask God to make Christlike love the definitive mark of your
Christianity.

Tuesday
Epistle Project: Romans 13:1-7

Christians understand that we are not of this world. We

are citizens of another kingdom and our King is Jesus.
This might lead one to think, then, that we do not have
to live by the rules of this world. Nothing, however, could
be farther from the truth. In our reading for today, we see
that God requires that we “be subject to the governing
authorities,” because He is the one who has put them in
place. Though a citizen of heaven and not yet home, the
Christian is also a submissive citizen of this world.

Epistle Project: Romans 13:8-14 Epistle Project: Romans 14:13-23

In verse 9, of this passage, Paul cites many Old Testament No one knows or enjoys freedom like the Christian. No one

All of these are summed up by Paul in the call from Leviticus Satan’s grip. Christians understand freedom in a way that no
19:18, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Take time to one else possibly can. Yet, in our passage for today we see that
pray and ask the Lord to help you to love others more this way. it is possible for us to overdo our freedom. Something that we
may prize as a freedom, yet causes another person to stumble,
is no freedom at all. When we value things that the world offers
(i.e. food or drink) more than we do righteousness, peace, and
joy in the Holy Spirit, we misunderstand the kingdom of God (v.
17). Take time to ask the Lord to expose any areas in your life
that may cause others to stumble.

Epistle Project: Romans 14:1-12 Epistle Project: Romans 15:1-7

These verses are a stark reminder that we are not to pass Regardless of who you are, where you come from, or how
judgment on one another. Some are weaker in the faith and long you have been a Christian, we are all members of
some stronger. Christ has brought dissimilar people together one another (Rom. 12:5). In this passage Christians are
into genuine unity. Pray that you would not seek to judge called to accept, welcome, exhort, and live in harmony
others, but instead find ways to build up the body of Christ. with one another because, as believers, we have all been
accepted by Christ. When this is done we will bring great
glory to God. Pray for a desire to live in harmony with other
believers and that by doing so God would be glorified.
