My full name is Marie Salomea Skłodowska Curie, I was born on
November 7, 1867 in Warsaw - Poland. In 1891 I moved to Paris to continue my studies. In 1894 I met the physicist Pierre Curie with whom I married and had two children. 1898 I discovered two new chemical elements: polonium and radium. In 1903 I was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery of the radioactive elements, I was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. In 1911 won the second Nobel, Chemistry, for my research on radium and its compounds. I was appointed director of the Radio Institute of Paris in 1914 and founded the Curie Institute. In 1934 I suffered from pernicious anemia caused by long exposure to radiation and I was blind.
