Scriptures to Rest Upon

…they were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord. (Isaiah 63:14)

Day 1 Come to me [Jesus], all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
Day 2 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find
rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:29)
Day 3 Then, because so many were coming and going that day they did not even have a chance to eat,
He [Jesus] said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
(Mark 6:31)
Day 4 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be
found to have fallen short of it. (Hebrews 4:1)
Day 5 And on the seventh day, God rested from all his work. (Genesis 2:2, Hebrews 4:4)
Day 6 Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season
and harvest you must rest. (Exodus 34:21)
Day 7 Work six days only; the seventh day is a day of solemn rest, a holy day to be used to worship
Jehovah… don’t even light the fires in your homes that day. (Exodus 35:2)
Day 8 But in the seventh year the land is to have a Sabbath of rest, a Sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow
your fields or prune your vineyards. (Leviticus 25:4)
Day 9 Observe the Sabbath by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Six days you
shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you
shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your servants, nor your ox, your
donkey, or any of your animals, nor the alien within your gates, so that all may rest as you do.
(Deuteronomy 5:12-14)
Day 10 There remains, then, a Sabbath – rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest
Also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. (Hebrews 4:9,10)
Day 11 Let us therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall…. (Hebrews 4:11)
Day 12 All the lands are at rest and at peace; they break into singing. (Isaiah 14:7)
Day 13 …with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people, to whom he said, “This is
the resting place, let the weary rest….” (Isaiah 28:11-12)
Day 14 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel says, “In repentance and rest is your
salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength….” (Isaiah 30:15)
Day 15 My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.
(Isaiah 32:18)
Day 16 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death. (Isaiah 57:2)
Day 17 “Peace, peace to those far and near,” says the Lord. “I will heal them. But the wicked are like the
tossing sea, which cannot rest, whose waves cast up mire and mud.” (Isaiah 57:19-20)
Day 18 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if
you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s day honorable, and if you honor it by not going
your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in
the Lord, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land….” (Isaiah 58:13,14)
Day 19 …they were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord. (Isaiah 63:14)
Day 20 This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask
where the good way is, and walk in it and you will find rest for your souls.” (Jeremiah 6:16a)
Day 21 Oh that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly far away and be at rest – I would flee far away and
stay in the desert. (Psalm 55:6,7)
Day 22 My soul finds rest in God alone, my salvation comes from him. (Psalm 62:1)
Day 23 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (Ps. 91:1)
Day 24 Be at rest once more O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. (Psalm 116: 7)
Day 25 The Lord replied, “My presence will go with you and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:14)
Day 26 The Lord your God is giving you rest and has granted you this land. (Joshua 1:13)
Day 27 “But you will cross the Jordon and settle in the land the Lord your God is giving you as an
inheritance, and he will give you rest from all your enemies around you so that you will live in
safety.” (Deuteronomy 12:10)
Day 28 The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their forefathers. (Joshua 21:44)
Day 29 There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone that
receives the mark of his name. (Revelation 14:11)
Day 30 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now
on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”
(Revelation 14:13)
Day 31 They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.
(II Chronicles 15:15)

If you look at the world, you will be distressed; if you look


within, you will be depressed; but if you look at Christ, you will be
at rest. It is what you concentrate on that determines your level
of personal peace. Focus on God’s presence; he is with
you, and he has promised he will never leave you.
