Kebutuhan akan informasi yang cepat, akurat, dan tepat waktu merupakan suatu hal yang

mutlak pada era yang serba cepat ini. Keterlambatan dalam menyajikan informasi yang
dibutuhkan akan menyebabkan informasi tersebut tidak relevan bagi penggunanya. Saat ini
pelayanan rawat ianp di RS Paru Surabaya dilakukan secara manual dari pendaftaran pasien,
pemesanan kamar, dan pelaporan sehingga kurang efektif serta efisien dalam melayani pasien.
Untuk meningkatkan kinerja tersebut RS Paru Surabaya membutuhkan aplikasi pelayanan rawat
inap yang terkomputerisasi.
Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu penyediaan aplikasi pelayanan rawat inap. Metode penelitian
menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Objek yang diteliti yaitu buku registrasi
pasien rawat inap, dokumen rekam medis, dan format laporan RS. Pengumpulan data dilakukan
dengan metode observasi dengan mengamati objek penelitian dan metode wawancara untuk
mengetahui alur pelayanan rawat inap. Setelah data terkumpul dilakukan perancangan desain
dengan Unified Modeling Language (UML). Aplikasi pelayanan rawat inap dikembangkan
dengan metode System Develoment Life Cycle dan dibuat dengan Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0,
SQL Server 2000, serta Crystal Reports 8.5. Setelah aplikasi tersedia dilakukan uji coba dengan
black box testing dan kuesioner.
Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu aplikasi pelayanan rawat inap yang terdiri dari sembilan
tabel, sebelas form Visual Basic, dan dua laporan di Crystal Reports.

The need for fast, accurate, and timely information is one thing bbsolute in this fast-
paced era. Delays in presenting that information required will cause the information is not
relevant for its users. Currently inpatient care service in Surabaya lung hospital is done
procedure manually from patient registration, booking rooms, and reporting so as to be less
effective and efficient in serving patients.To be improved, the performance of Surabaya lung
hospital requires a computerized care application. The purpose of this study is the provision of
inpatient service applications. Research methods are used is research and development methods.
The study object is the inpatients registration book, medical record documents, and hospital
report formats. Data collection is done by observating the object of research and interview
method for know the inpatient service flow. After the data collected, that data will be design with
Unified Modeling Language (UML). Inpatient service application developed with the System
Develoment Life Cycle method and created with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, SQL Server 2000,
and Crystal Reports 8.5. Once the application is available,the application wil be trials with
black box testing and questionnaires. The result of this research is the application of inpatient
service consist of nine tables, eleven forms of Visual Basic, and two reports in Crystal Reports.
