LESSON 2
Introduction and Warm up: T. greets Ss and checks attendance. T reminds Ss of the lesson’s
learning objective. As a warm up, T. asks Ss the acheivements of the famous creative people 7=8
in ex. 2.
Do a Quiz: Preparation for Listening
Ex.1 p. 76-77
T. asks students to work in pairs to answer the quiz. T. encourages them not 15
to read the three possible answers but to guess the answers.. T. checks as a class without
confirming answers.

T. asks students to listen to two people doing part of the quiz. Students listen for the number
of questions asked and the speakers’ answers to those questions.
Ex.2 p. 76-77
T. focuses on the Useful language box and give students a minute to read through all of the 15
phrases. T. plays the recording again for students to number the phrases in the order they
hear them. For feedback, T. plays the recording again and pauses after each phrase to make
sure everybody has heard them.

Ex.1a T. puts students into different pairs. They work together to answer the quiz using the 15
multiple-choice answers and the Useful language box.
Ex. 1b T. directs students to page 97 to check how many answers they got right. For 10
feedback, find out which pair got the most correct answers.
Ex. 2 T. asks students to use the information from the quiz and from page 97 to prepare to
talk about two of the people mentioned in the quiz. T, allows plenty of time for students to 10
prepare. Circulate and offer help as necessary.

T. gives students a chance to ‘perfect’ their speaking by making an audio or video recording,
Students could even use their iPads to do this. Students can either record themselves during 30
the lesson and share it with the class.
T. asks Ss to do the exercise individually and the check in pairs followed by class check. 15

Consolidation
T. uses this class time to recycle and revise language learnt so far through Extra Resources;
e.g. TPG, Kahoots and Quizlets. Checks Ss yesterday’s homework.
