Grade 7-Male
1.How does computer games affect the academic performance of the junior high students? How does
computer games alter attention of high school students’ focus on academic field in their studies?
Computer games distract students from their learning and achievement in school. Playing two hours or more of
computer games; students may have trouble falling asleep. If they’re lack of sleep they will not be able to focus
on their class.
2. To what extent, in terms of frequency of playing, affect students negatively and positively regarding their
educational outcome?
Most of grade 7 male students play twice a day, 4 times a week and 4 time every week-ends, and mostly spent
2 hours daily and 4 hours every week-ends. That can lead to the downfall of their grades. If grade 7 male
students play logic games or brain exercise it enhance their brain.
3. What types of computer games that are advantageous and disadvantageous to academic performance of
high school students?
Brain exercise games are advantageous to academic performance but grade 7 male students didn’t spent
much time playing brain exercise. Strategic games is the highest type of game that grade 7 both male; it
improves their agility skills and in making decisions, but if they spent so much hour playing strategic games
they will skip their home works just to play.

Grade 7- Female

computer games alter attention of high school students’ focus on academic field in their studies?
Computer games can distract female students from their learning and achievements in school or an enhance
the knowledge of grade 7 female students. If they spent less time playing non- educational games they can still
focus on their studies.
2. To what extent, in terms of frequency of playing, affect students negatively and positively regarding their
educational outcome?
The grade 7 female students doesn’t really affect them negatively because of spending less time in computer
games, they only play computer games as their relaxation and relief from their stress. Most of grade 7 female
students play 1 game each day, four games each week, and also four games every week-ends. Spent 2 hours
daily and 4 hours every week- ends.
3. What types of computer games that are advantageous and disadvantageous to academic performance of
high school students?
Brain exercise games are the advantageous games to academic performance, that grade 7 female students
play; because it enhance students brain.
Grade 8- Male
1.How does computer games affect the academic performance of the junior high students? How does
computer games alter attention of high school students’ focus on academic field in their studies?
Computer games affects students positively and negatively. Based from the results of the survey
questionnaires they answered, computer games has negative effects to academic performance of grade 8
male students. It distract them from their study and push them away to spend less time for school activities.
2. To what extent, in terms of frequency of playing, affect students negatively and positively regarding their
educational outcome?
Male students of grade 8 class mostly play once each day, some play once, thrice or four time each week, and
twice every week-ends. Most of them play 2 hours daily and 4 hours and above in week-ends. Computer
games negatively affect them because of spending 2 hours and more , they skip their home works and spend
less time for school activities; resulting for their low grade.
3. What types of computer games that are advantageous and disadvantageous to academic performance of
high school students?
Strategic games are the disadvantageous games to academic performance of grade 8 male students, because
of its negative mechanics and it affect students thinking, it affect students thinking by being an absent minded
of a students in their class.

Grade 8- Female
1.How does computer games affect the academic performance of the junior high students? How does
computer games alter attention of high school students’ focus on academic field in their studies?
Computer games can be negative or positive to academic performance of grade 8 female students. If the
students aren’t able to manage time, they might spend less time for their home works and school activities.
2. To what extent, in terms of frequency of playing, affect students negatively and positively regarding their
educational outcome?
Grade 8 female students are mostly 14 years old. They mostly play computer games twice a day, 4 times or
more every week, and some female students play once every week-ends and some 4 times or more. And most
of them spent 2 hours daily, and 2 hours also in week-ends. Playing computer games doesn’t really affect
female students negatively; according to researchers survey female students doesn’t have grades below 75.

3. What types of computer games that are advantageous and disadvantageous to academic performance of
high school students?
Strategic games, brain exercise games and art game doesn’t have disadvantage for female students because
they just have to manage their time be responsible on their school activities. Brain exercise is the most agreed
types of game by female students.
Grade 9- Male

Some grade 9 male students were affected negatively in their academic performance because of computer
games addiction. It alter their attentions on academic field in their studies by them spending less time in school
activities, skipping their home works to play computer games ,or skip classes.

2. To what extent, in terms of frequency of playing, affect students negatively and positively regarding their
educational outcome?

They usually play 2 games each day, 4 games each week, and 4 times each week-ends. Most of them spent 2
hours each day, and some spent 4 hours and above each day, 3 hours in week- ends; that affect students
negatively because it alter their attention from their studies.

3.What types of computer games that are advantageous and disadvantageous to academic performance of
high school students?
Strategic games are disadvantageous to academic performance of high school students, because it is the
addicting games that affect students focus on their academic studies that leads to the downfall of their grades.

Grade 9- Female
1.How does computer games affect the academic performance of the junior high students? How does
computer games alter attention of high school students’ focus on academic field in their studies?
Computer games does not really affect grade 9 female students negatively from their academic study
according to surveys of the researchers; because they didn’t really spent much time in computer games unlike
grade 9 male students.

2. To what extent, in terms of frequency of playing, affect students negatively and positively regarding their
educational outcome?
Grade 9 female students usually play 1 game each day, twice each week, and twice each week-ends. Mosly
play 1 hour daily and 2 hours or 4 in week-ends; in that, they are not really affected negatively or positively in
their academic field.

3. What types of computer games that are advantageous and disadvantageous to academic performance of
high school students?
Arts and brain exercise games are the advantageous to academic performance of grade 9 female students,
and only 3 students of grade 9 agree on strategic games.
Grade 10- Male
1.How does computer games affect the academic performance of the junior high students? How does
computer games alter attention of high school students’ focus on academic field in their studies?
Students were distracted in their academic field , that affect male students of grade 10 class from their study by
always thinking about the games they had played or the games that they will join.
2. To what extent, in terms of frequency of playing, affect students negatively and positively regarding their
educational outcome?

In terms of playing games each day, most of grade 10 male students played once and twice each day,
followed by 4 times or more, most of them 4 times each week followed by 3 times each week, once and 4
times in week-ends are both have the highest ratings in terms of playing in week-ends. The number of hours
spent by grade 10 students daily are divided into 3, some of them mostly spent 1 hour, 2 hour, and 4 hours
daily, and 4 hours or more in week-ends.

3. What types of computer games that are advantageous and disadvantageous to academic performance of
high school students?
Strategic games which is addicting games are the disadvantageous for grade 10 students academic
performance because it is addicting game it distract them from their study and let them skip their home works
and spend less time for school activities, that leads to the downfall of their grades. Brain exercise is the
advantageous for the academic performance of high school students.

Grade 10- Female

computer games alter attention of high school students’ focus on academic field in their studies?
Computer games does not give grade 10 female students a negative effects on their academic performance, it
does not alter their focus on academic field in their study; they only play computer games as an entertainment
that does not really affect their study.

2. To what extent, in terms of frequency of playing, affect students negatively and positively regarding their
educational outcome?

Mostly them played once or twice each day, twice each week, and one of them play once in week-ends, the
other one play twice in week-ends, the other one play thrice in week-ends, and the last one female student
play 4 times in week- ends. They play differently in week- ends but has no negative outcome in their study.

3. What types of computer games that are advantageous and disadvantageous to academic performance of
high school students?
Brain training refers to cognitive training that uses intense mental exercises to target and work on
the brain's core cognitive skills. The skills targeted by brain training may include: attention, long- and short-
term memory, auditory processing, processing speed, and/or logic & reasoning. (LearningRx,2013-2018).
Brain exercise games is the most advantageous to academic performance of high school students.
