2. Required Qualification
3. Training Duration: - 1 week for Project Directors and 6 weeks for Site Supervisors.
A letter of attendance will be issued to Project Directors, and a Certificate from KTC will be
issued to each person that successfully completes the Site Supervisors training course. Only
those Construction firms for which the Project Director, Site Agent and one Senior Foreman
who have successfully completed the training course will be eligible to tender for contracts
for Low Volume Sealed Road Works using machine and labour based methods funded by
European Union / Government of Kenya (EU/GoK) expected to be advertised before the end
of year 2014.
In this regard, interested contractors are invited to attend information workshops which will
be held in the Counties of Makueni, Machakos, Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Meru on the
dates indicated in the table below. More information on the training course, and further
eligibility criteria will be made available.
There is limited space on the courses therefore KeRRA and Kenya Institute of Highways &
Building Technology (KIHBT) need to know as soon as possible, the level and numbers of
those interested in training in Low Volume Sealed Road works.
For expression of interest in the training, the Contractors registered under categories
NCA1 to NCA4 may contact:

The other contractors who are not in the categories mentioned above should contact the
relevant KeRRA Regional Managers using the addresses given below.
The interested Contractors will be required to meet all the training costs for the Project
Director, the Site Agent and Senior Foreman. The indicative training costs based on Kisii
Training Centre venue are as shown in the table below but other venues can be considered
on consensus though the fee structure may change.
A brochure providing more information about the training course and contacts for the
relevant KIHBT focal points will be provided at the meetings above, or by applying to the
relevant KeRRA Regional Managers in the five counties. Contact information is given below.
