14th ANNIVERSARY REPORT – 27.01.2018

Welcome

My hearty welcome to one and all present here. I

would like to thank you all for responding to our
invitation and gracing this occasion. I have great
pleasure in presenting to you the 14th Annual Day
Report.

Our lovable and honourable Rev.Fr.Antony

Xavier, M.Sc.,LL.B., the founder of St.Assisi Matric
Hr.Sec.School, today’s chief guest Fr.John
Arumainathan, Provincial, Queen Mary Provincialate,
Mr.M.Jeganathan, Principal, Sri Kanna Matriculation
School, Puliangudi and Dr.Balasubramanian, M.D.,DCH.,

Assistant Professor of Paediatric, Madras Medical

College Paediatrician in ICH & Hospital for Children in
Egmore. Our loveable parents who extend their
valuable suggestion and efficient and hardworking staff
who are the pillars of this institution and our dear
students, by the grace of our Lord Almighty, I take
great pleasure in welcoming all of you once again on
this special occasion.

Mission of the School:

Self Discipline, Self reliance and hard work are the

mission of our school. The main aim of our
management is to enlighten our students with best
education, train them spoken English and to develop an
integrated personality.

Origin of Our Institution:

I take this opportunity to convey my warmest

greetings to our Founder Rev.Fr.Antony Xavier
M.Sc.,LL.B., who started this Educational Institution in
the year 2004 in the name of St.Antony’s Nursery and
Primary School. By the grace and blessings of our
Lord Almighty, now the school successfully runs as a
Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the name of
St.Assisi with 765 students, 39 teaching staff and 3 non-
teaching staff.

Amenity of the Institution:

All educators know that the atmosphere within a

school contributes as much to the success of the
students as the curriculum. Our school has more bearing
on weather and develops a love for learning to the
students. Van facilities are provided to all the students
to their respective places. We maintain hygienic
environment with RO plant in each floor to provide
purified water to our students. We have well furnished
computer, Biology, Physics and Chemistry laboratories.
We are also equipped with the lab technologies like
LCD projector, Audio visual program for the effective
teaching and for easy understanding of students. We
have library with various collection of books to enhance
the students’ knowledge. And also we have CCTV
camera in school campus to maintain the discipline.
This year we have introduced smart board class in the
way to keep our students updated. Play room is
available with so many colourful playthings for our KG
students to cherish and enjoy.

Academic Achievements:

Academics is the soul of a school. We are proud to

report that 2016 – 2017 batch of X std and XII std
students brought laurels to the school by their 100%
results. This was possible because of the continuous
efforts by the dedicated staff, hardwork of the students
and by taking other remedial measures to improve them
I am glad to inform you that one of our student Manoj
of XII 2016 – 2017 batch cleared JEE Main exam
without any prior coaching.

This year we have initiated NEET and JEE

coaching classes for XI and XII students to bring out
the Best doctors and great engineers. We have also
started UPSC coaching class for the classes VI to XII to
enrichen in all the fields of society and to enhance them
for the post of IAS, IPS and so many high posts in this
competitive world.

Co-Curricular Activities:

Apart from academics, our students are very much

talented in extra activities like painting, sports, speech
etc. So they participate in many intra and inter school
competitions and bring many awards and medals. We
have dance, yoga, Archery, Karate, Silambam and
abacus classes for the betterment of children’s
nourishment. Our school conduct various competitions
like Poem recitation, Drawing, Elocution, Fancy Dress,
Clay modelling, Essay writing, Spell Bee, Greeting
Card making etc. The students are encouraged to
participate in inter school competitions, competitions
conducted by government and various organisations.
Our students participated and brought many prizes in
competitions conducted by Kamaraj Academy, National
Educational Development centre, Global event
managers, Power Grid Corporation of India limited,
Swaralaya Academy of fine Arts, Indian Talent Exam
etc. Our students Dheepthi and Harshini Pooja were
awarded a guinness record for performing
Bharathanatiyam where 5000 dancers from various
schools performed together. K.Sowmiya of X secured
100 marks in Pinnacle maths medal Exam 2017 and got
first prize and awarded cash of Rs 3000.

Sports and Games:

Our school has always been taking initiatives to get

the best talent in the sports areana. Many students have
achieved in zonal level competition in atheletic, chess
etc. Our students MitulKartik VIII Std and Ranjith
ananth VI Std were awarded many prizes for being
talented in chess competitions. Our students also
participated in state level competitions and National
level competitions in chess, archery etc. They also got
many prizes in Yoga and Archery competitions.
Picnic and Excursion:

Our school had organised 2 days excursion for the

students. The students of V to XII were taken to
Yercaud and it was also their educational trip. Those
days all the teachers and the students together had all
the fun.

Vision of our Institution:

Our vision of St.Assisi Matric Hr.Sec.School is to

empower students to acquire high discipline,
knowledge, valuable virtues, Spoken English and
personality skills that will support them life long.

Conclusion:

All the good works of the school have been

possible with the co-operation of our highly efficient
and dedicated faculties. Our thanks to the management
of our school for the able guidance and encouragement.
I would like to conclude by extending our sincere
thanks to all the parents and each one of you who have
lent a supportive hand down through the years.
 I hope you surely enjoy the cultural programmes by
our students under the theme of Indian and Tamil
traditional dances. Let this evening be a pleasurable
one.
