MONDAY—EVANGELISTIC PRAYER TUESDAY—FOCUS ON CHRIST’S LIFE

Monday, February 26
† Prov. 11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be
watered also himself.
Glorious and Good Heavenly Father:
Some animals hoard their food. If I do that I will never grow spiritually.
Lord, open opportunities today where I can distribute Bible-bread to the
spiritually poor. The world’s way of prosperity is to close the hand and clench the
fist, but that is not your way. Your way is the open hand, because
Prov. 11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth
more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
The way faith gains ground is by giving. I cannot pray, “Lord,
strengthen my faith,” unless I am willing for you to increase my giving. Then I
can expect you to give me just as much prosperity as is good for me, and is
needful for me to accomplish your Eternal Purpose. I can do this in faith,
knowing a gracious reward will follow a liberal stewardship. Make me a better
giver today in all aspects of stewardship—both over the things I own, the
resources I have, and the truth I know. Make me a seed-scatterer!
Isa. 32:8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
Give me spiritual fatness by granting me generous thoughts toward you,
toward my church, and toward those we have sent out or support. Let me not be
tight-fisted, either in financial support or in prayer support. I do not want to
starve my own heart by being stingy! Give me grace to be bountiful, because then
I will be like Christ. He gave himself for me; how can I begrudge him any thing?
Especially be with me to open doors to give the gospel to __________ and
__________, because that truth is the most precious gift there is. Teach me to be
freer with the offer of free grace. In Christ Jesus’ name I ask it. Amen.

1 Tim. 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded,
nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
TIME, by moments, steals away, first the hour, and then the day;
Small the daily loss appears, yet it soon amounts to years:
Thus another year is flown, now it is no more our own
(If it brought or promised good) than the years before the flood.
But (may none of us forget) it has left us much in debt;
Favors from the Lord received, sins that have His Spirit grieved;
Marked by an unerring hand in His book recorded stand;
Who can tell the vast amount, placed to each of our account?
Will you still increase the score? Still be careless, as before?
O, forbid it, gracious Lord, touch their spirits by Thy Word!
Now, in mercy, to them show what a mighty debt they owe!
All their unbelief subdue, let them find forgiveness too.

WEDNESDAY—REVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 10-13; Psalm 90
Tuesday, February 27
John 4:48-49 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not
believe. The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
Heavenly Master:
If I do not get the answer I need at first, let me plead again, and persevere
and go on. It is better for me to have even little faith—and yet that faith to be
real—than to have no faith and walk away sad.
Sometimes my faith is hindered because I want to see something as a sign
you love me. I get it in my mind, not only that you can do a certain thing, but that
you have to do it my way or else you do not love me. I become like Naaman.
2 Kings 5:11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought,
He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and
strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
I plan it all in my own mind, how you have to answer, and how you have to
work. Do not let me limit you by my own mental prejudice! Make my faith
so tough it can endure even your rebuff. I need rock-hard faith for rock-hard
times. You ARE my only hope. I cannot turn away. So I say with John Bunyan,
I was driven to such straits that I must of necessity go to
Jesus; and if he had met me with a drawn sword in his hand, I
would sooner have thrown myself upon the edge of his sword than
have gone away from him; for I knew him to be my last hope.
Help me plead with passion in prayer. Lord, do not examine my faith. Do
not think of me at all. Just save my neighbor, save my friend, save my family!
They were at the point of spiritual death when I left them, and if my plea fails in
width, then let it succeed in force. I hold on and hold out for you to answer. May
love grant me an answer of peace for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
FRIDAY— CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 21-24
Friday, March 2
Psa. 107:8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his
wonderful works to the children of men!
Powerful God and Personal Savior:
We wonder, how many people can be won to Christ just by the testimony
of our praise? Maybe if we pity-partied less and praised more we would see more
fruit. At least you would be more glorified.
LET THEM SEE US PRAISE YOU FOR COMMON MERCY. Common because it
comes daily, yet really priceless because when you withhold it we almost die. We
take for granted the eyes with which we see your creation. We take for granted
the health and strength to move around. We take for granted (in the cafeteria if
not at home) the bread we eat and the clothing we wear. We praise you we are
not counted among the homeless, or confined with the guilty. We have liberty,
family and luxury. We have entertainment and leisure to share with friends. We
deserve nothing, yet you give us so much!
LET THEM SEE US PRAISE YOU FOR REDEEMING LOVE. Help everyone who
is saved in our church—wherever they are today—to blow-up in songs of
thanksgiving. You are redeeming us from the power of our corruptions! You are
lifting us from the depth of our sins! Our shackles of guilt are now broken. We
are no longer slaves, but children of the living God. Even now, by faith, we
should be giving thanks to you as if we were in front of the throne.
How can we be silent in praise? Is our tongue broken? Wake us up as heirs
of glory and help us lead our captivity captive in front of the lost. When they see
us praising in the midst of affliction, opposition, sorrow or suffering, then they
will know Christ can also bring to their soul a new song. Do it for us today for

Wednesday, February 28
Rev. 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take
thy crown.
Jesus, Lord Glorious:
Let me not forget where my greatest strength lies; I have to rely on the
Spirit of God alone. Work in the power of your grace to make men and women
feel the majesty of your word. Today when I give a witness, let it cut through
them like a knife, so they cannot help but feeling, “God is speaking to me.”
What we enjoy of the increase of fruit in recent weeks we want to retain—
yea Lord, we want to have more! Keep up the momentum. Our only crowning
achievement is revival. I must hold it fast, for I cannot bear to lose it.
How is it I am not more distressed, since people I know are perishing in
their sins? Why am I not more intent on faith, trust, the crucified life, and seeing
the conversion of sinners? Let these questions humble me, and cause me great
searching of heart and seeking for blessing. It is a shame I have so little of the
mind of the Spirit, so little soul-consciousness and compassion for the lost!
Some people ask, “If the heathen are not evangelized what will happen to
them?” I need to ask, if I do not evangelize the heathen what will happen to me?
I need not pray about their destiny so much as my own, because Lord, in eternity
I want to be near you. If I never seek another person’s salvation I am in danger
of not being valuable to you for your Eternal Purpose.
I cannot be wrapped-up in myself and have revival. I cannot walk in
the Spirit, yet be indifferent to the spiritual condition of others, because the very
first fruit of the Spirit is love. Give me more desire to win souls, to connect them
to our church, to directed them to grow in the faith, and to be perfected and
fruitful for you, Lord. I ask it for the sake of Jesus. Amen.
SATURDAY—IN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 25-28
Saturday, March 3
Psa. 146:7 Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the
hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:
God and Father of Endless Ages:
I remember. Joseph, Israel in Egypt, Jeremiah, Peter, Paul and Silas, and
many others. You loosed many multitudes, so you can also free ME! I have
strong holds, but you can break the bars of brass with a word. You can snap my
shackles of iron with a look. In a thousand points of a thousand places at once,
those who were trapped are walking out into light and enlargement, and new
opportunity. Our preachers still proclaim the opening of prison to the bound. So
this very Sunday make doors open and manacles drop to the ground!
Make it so for those I can reach. I want to set people free in Christ! Free
from sorrow, doubt and fear. Free from addiction and insecurity. I know it is as
great a pleasure to Jesus to use me as it is for him to loose me, and as it is for me
to be free from that which bound me for so long a time.
I thank you Lord, I do not have to snap the iron bands myself. I trust you
to be the Emancipator for me and through me. I believe you in spite of the stone
walls surrounding so many lives. I believe you in spite of the handcuffs. Satan
cannot hold us; sin cannot chain us; even despair cannot bind us if I believe in
the Lord, and in the freeness of his grace, and in the fullness of his power!
Psa. 107:14-16 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and
brake their bands in sunder. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his
wonderful works to the children of men! For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars
of iron in sunder.
I can defy the enemy with the verses above! That is my song of
deliverance. Use me in the name of the Lord Jesus this weekend. Amen.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
“Oh,” says one, “I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer.” And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into God’s presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayer—the posture, the
time, place—rather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
