ABSTRACT

This project works “STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF RCC T-

BEAM BRIDGE” is one of the major works of Civil Engineers. As per syllabus in civil
engineering, project work is done in final (Eight) semester. The main objective of this
project is practical application of various theoretical knowledge acquired during the
whole B.E. program. In case of structure part, the conducted subjects are “strength
of materials, concrete technology, Theory of structure part (I and II), RCC and steel
structure”. And for hydrological analysis, the conducted subjects are “Hydrology”,
“Hydraulics” etc. These subjects help us in designing the safe, economics and stable
structure but only these theoretical and fundamental ideas for practical
examination.

In civil engineering works, care and attention should give as

paramount of risks are involved and the lives of the people are at site. So, more
realistic approach has been adopted taking in account the various consequence that
may arise during the real practice work and more attention should be given to get
optimum good result. The other important main feature of the project is that
coordination between the team, which turned out the magical power success of the
project.

The project gives the complete idea about the design and analysis of the RCC
T-Beam Bridge. We believe that the project will help us in future stepping ahead in
professional life.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The project report of RCC Bridge (16 m span – T-Beam Bridge) is

prepared as partial fulfillment for the degree of B.E. Civil Engineering Fourth Year
Second semester. The main objective of this project is to consolidate and update
practical as well as theoretical knowledge in structural analysis and design in both
actual field and construction.

We would like to express my gratitude to all those who gave me the

possibility to complete this project. We would like to heartily thank to Er. Rajendra
Raj Sharma (project instructor) and Er. Ramesh Nepali (college teacher), for kindly
support and help during the whole project works. We would also like to thank the
Department of Civil Engineering of “Himalayan Institute of Science and Technology,
(HIST) Engineering College” for giving such a golden opportunity to commence this
project in the first instance and for providing the necessary facility and support for
whole project works. We would also like to thanks to all colleagues and friends who
directly and indirectly helped us during the project work.
