RESUSCITATION SKILL OF BENGUET STATE UNIVERSITY LEVEL IV NURSE
LEARNERS . Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Adviser: Lawrence C. Caranto, RN, MAN

This Study is focused on determining the level of skill of the Nurse Learners of Benguet

State University in Adult and Pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Through this study, it has

been determined that the level of skill of the nurse learners has decreased 1 year after the

training. With this study, clinical facilitators may use the gathered data to serve as their baseline

in the future when training the Nurse Learners about Adult and Pediatric Cardiopulmonary

Resuscitation.

This study however is limited to the respondents who were only students from level IV

only. The quantitative descriptive method was used in the study. The gathered data was

presented and classified in a tabular form and was statistically analyzed using a statistical

software. Furthermore, the data was tabulated, discussed, and interpreted accordingly.

Findings show that after the training, the Nurse Learners had a Very High Skill level,

Whereas 1 year after; the Nurse Learners had a High Skill level. This implies that the Nurse

Learners are Skilful in performing Adult and Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

Based on the findings, the following conclusions were formed:

Regardless of the scores on both tests, the Benguet State University Nurse Learners are

skilful in performing Adult and Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation; As time goes by, the

Benguet State University Nurse Learners had decreased skill; Even if a Nurse Learner has a High

Skill in Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, it will not affect their performance in Pediatric
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and vice versa in performing both Adult and Pediatric

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
