God’s favors

Ladies and Gentlement,

Allah SWT has given us countless blessings, so that if all men are smart and all intelligent people
gathered to count the blessings of Allah, will undoubtedly not be able to count God's enormous
favors.
Allah Ta'ala said,
ٌ ُ‫َّللاَ لَغَف‬
‫ور َر ِحي ٌم‬ ‫َوإِ ْن تَعُدُّوا نِ ْع َمةَ ه‬
ُ ْ‫َّللاِ ََل تُح‬
‫صوهَا إِ هن ه‬
"And if you count the favor of Allah, you can not determine the number. Verily Allah is
Forgiving and Most Merciful. "(Surat An Nahl: 18).

Among the favors mentioned are livestock, rain fall, the growth of various plants (olive, dates,
and grapes), the shift of night and day, the existence of the sea to seek God's grace, the
mountains that serve as the stake so that the earth is not shaken and the existence star as a
direction.

There are some kinds of favors, those are:

1. Nikmat Fitriyah
Nikmat Fitriyah is a blessing that is in us or our personal. For example: God gives us this life,
hands, feet, charming faces, eyes, ears and other limbs. It is our duty to be grateful. And do
not be arrogant if we are given an attractive appearance. Thank goodness that it is the allure
given by God solely for the right-good things.

2. Nikmat Ikhtiyariyah.
This favor is a blessing we get for our efforts. For example: the many treasures, the high
position, the Science, the great Influence, Position, land, Car and others that we get for our
efforts. This favors we should be grateful. Dedicate our possessions and use them to the way
God blesses them. If you become a leader with a high position, do not use the wrong position,
because it will all be held accountable by Allah SWT.
3. Nikmat Alamah.
Favors nature around us. We can not live if God does not give this natural pleasure. For
example: Water, Air, Land and others. Let us be grateful for all this by keeping this nature
from harm. Keeping the air out of pollution, planting lots of trees and others.
4. Nikmat Diiniyah.
Delight Diiniyah is a blessing of Islam. Favors of Faith. Imagine if we were born not from the
womb of a Muslim? Maybe this time we become kafir. So thank God the blessings that God
has given us by living the commandments of religion and away from the prohibitions of Allah
SWT.
5. Nikmat Ukhrowiyah.
Favors Ukhrowi is a blessing of the afterlife. This is what we will pick later if it has been
count in yaumul mahsyar. This favor depends on what we do in this world. If all blessings
above that we have received and we are grateful, then this ukhrowi favors that we will get and
feel later in the afterlife.

How do we respond to the favor that God has given us? Obviously with gratitude. Being grateful
for what we have got from God is the obligatory law. Therefore always thank God only.
Undoubtedly God will always add His favor to us. On the contrary if we neglect and do not want
to give thanks. Then God will overwrite us with a painful punishment. As the word of God in
surah Ibrahim verse 7:
َ َ‫شك َْرت ُ ْم ََل َ ِز ْيدَ هن ُك ْم َولَئِ ْن َكفَ ْرت ُ ْم إِ هن َعذَابِ ْي ل‬
٧ٌ ‫ش ِد ْيد‬ َ ‫َوإِذْ تَأَذهنَ َربُّ ُك ْم لَئِ ْن‬

Verse 7. And (remember) when your Lord proclaims, "If you give thanks, I will add (favor) to
you, but if ye deny (My favor), then My punishment will be very heavy."

We must realize that life in this world is only temporary. There is a time limit which God has set
and when it is time we will all die. So also the favor given by God is not ours but only the
entrusted goods. So it is appropriate that we take care and give thanks for the "deposit" is
because one day it will all be returned to Allah SWT.
