Kane remained away ftom Taunton High School for an extended period of time and had been at the center of several complaints regarding school safety. Kane returned to Taunton High School for a meeting with school officials and as he was escotted out of the building he made several threats against the individuals in the meeting as well as the student body in general. As a precaution all future meetings with Kane were to be scheduled in another location away from the High School. Kane was also involved in two seperate weapons offenses outside of the schoo! setting and both officers planned to escort him to guidance after a pat frisk in the front seeurity office. Both SRO LaPlante & SRO Borges spoke breifly about the timing of Kane showing up at the schoo! and the national concem on the Florida school shooting. At this time Kane appeared to be walking briskly towards the school and had a black backpack over his shoulder, SRO Borges & SRO LaPlante encountered Kane as Security Officer Winner Guante opened the front door to lower level lobby. Kane immediately became agitated and stated, "what the fuck to do you guys want I know my rights". Kane attempted to turn away and proceed up the stairs yelling profanities at SRO Borges. At this time SRO Borges secured Kane by the left arm and Kane immediately started to violently pull away from him. SRO ‘LaPlante approached Kane and explained to him he was not going to walk through the school until he was searched for weapons. Kane initially calmed down but.as he approached the security office he clenched his fist and attempted to push away fiom SRO Borges hold, SRO LaPlante and S/O Guante restrained Kane at this time and Kane started to make threats yelling, "Tm going to fucking kill you mother fuckers. You both are going to die you picked the wrong day to fuck with me, I'm going to take your gun old man. I'm going to come in here with my AR-15 and put 100 rounds into this fucking place. I will fucking start with you two mother fuckers." Kane continued to scream threats and was taken to the ground. SRO LaPlante handeuffed Kane and he was brought back to his feet. Kane continued to threaten both officers and promised to kill both of them, SRO LaPlante tadioed to dispatch for a transport and Kane attempted to head butt SRO LaPlante, Ptlm. Christopher DeFortis and Ptim. ‘Troy Enos arrived on scene at this time and Kane was escorted out of the building. Kane continued fo make threats he would be back and he would kill everyone in the school when he returned, Kane was transported to 'T-P.D., where he was processed, booked, and advised of his Miranda Rights ‘which he refused to acknowledge or sign the booking documents. Kane was charged with Disturbing School Assembly 272/40, Terrorist Threats 269/14, Disorderly Conduct 272/53, Resisting Arrest 268/32, and Uttering Threats to Murder Police Officers 275/2.. While Kane was being detained in the cell block Lt, Bric Nichols advised SRO LaPlante that Kane was repeatedly holding his hands over his head as ifhe were being held at gun point.
