Research Assistant Advisor: Hong Wan
• Constructed optimal design with maximal probability of correct selection of LASSO using gradient method
• Implemented self-voting LASSO to build sparse model and select the tuning parameter λ automatically
• Achieved result highly consistent with factorial design experiment, and extended to multi-task LASSO

Operations Research Lab, Shanghai, China May 2015 - Nov 2016

Student Researcher Advisor: Andrea Matta
• Developed an intelligent Nested Partition Algorithm, which can focus computational effort on promising solutions
• Incorporated Optimal Computing Budget Allocation and Ordinal Optimization to statistically classify solutions
• Saved 80% of running time compared to OptQuest (commercial software), without compromising solution quality
