CREATIVITY DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION


Group : Group 1 to Group 4
Date : 2nd April 2017
Time : 9:30am to 10:30am (1 hour)
Winner : Top 3 winners from each group
Competition is COMPULSORY for all children to participate

GROUP 1: COLLAGE-MAKING COMPETITION -


Value : Non-violence (Kindness)

1. Each child is required to do a collage1 on an A4-sized drawing which will be provided to


them on the day of the competition. Each child will be given the same drawing for the
collage.
2. The collage should be completed during the stipulated time on the competition day.
Children may plan to use any additional materials (see rule 4 below) before the competition.
3. Items such as colour papers2, glue sticks and scissors will be provided during the
competition. However, children are also allowed to bring their own materials such as
newspapers, magazines, aluminium foil, ribbons, sequins, etc. to enhance their artwork
(please ensure the materials brought can be glued to A4 paper using a regular glue stick, no
special glues are allowed or will be provided).
4. The use of colour pencils, crayons, magic pens, etc. on the collage artwork is permitted.
However, the collage should be a major part of the artwork.

Definition of collage - a work of art made by sticking numerous materials (such as colour
paper,newspaper, magazines, or even fabric) to a background support, such as plain paper.

Shades of colour papers provided – black, brown, green, blue, red, orange and yellow.

GROUP 2: PAPER BATIK


Value : Non-violence (Care of the Environment) and Right Conduct (Efficiency)
Theme : Nature (Outdoor Scenery)

1. All materials MUST be brought by the children.


2. A simple scenery will be given to each child. Children should ADD on to it so that it
becomes attractive .
3. Children can practice at home but the scenery used will be the one provided.
4. Materials to be brought for the competition are as follows:
a) Old newspapers (for use during paint work)
b) Stationery
c) Brush, Water Colour, Crayons, Palette, Plastic glass for water and Rag (for cleaning)

GROUP 3: MODEL MAKING WITH RECYCLABLES

Value : Non-violence (Care of the Environment)

1. Children are required to produce a model to showcase the value of recycling


2. Idea showcased can be authentic, adapted or original
3. Model should be made during the stipulated time given – 1 hour for model making and 2 min
for presentation. The presentation should cover the explanation of the model and
recyclable items used
4. Only recyclable products are allowed – newspapers, cardboard, plastic, bottles, metal and
etc
5. Decorations for their model is allowed and must be brought by the children

GROUP 4: MODEL MAKING COMPETITION

1. Teens are required to build a 3D Model that depicts the value of Non-Violence
2. Model should be made during the stipulated time given – 1 hour for model making and 2 min
for presentation. The presentation should cover how their model embodies the non-violence
value and what materials used with proper reasons
3. Preparation works are allowed to be done at home
4. Only recyclable products are allowed i.e. newspapers, cardboard, plastic metal and etc
5. Teens are required to bring their own necessary stationeries for model making eg. Glue,
scissors, stapler, colours, newspapers etc
6. This is an individual competition. Group discussion (prior to competition) is encouraged
