Job Purpose:
Achieves the business/service goals for an assigned area/s (and/or multi- functional operation) by effectively
managing resources and processes to achieve the required results, whilst consistently ensuring compliance with
FedEx standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
Focuses on developing and applying the competencies needed to provide service excellence, including the leadership
skills needed to promote the PSP philosophy and engage and develop a motivated Team who deliver the required
results.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT - Uses structured processes and agreed best practice methods to
recruit, select and develop Professional and front-line employees performing multiple functions. Ensures they have the
capability and tools to deliver results for FedEx and the Customer.
Ongoing, achieves optimum performance levels by clearly communicating corporate and local requirements, including
individual and team performance expectations and targets. Uses approved tools (PBO process, PRs, best practice
methods etc) to set and manage performance and ensure goal achievement.
2. OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE - Monitors and manages the progress of the operation to ensure that the team
correctly understand the goals and any changing requirements. Initiates any actions needed to ensure that service
levels are achieved, including re-assigning duties and implementing approved contingency arrangements.
3. QUALITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT - Achieves objectives (improving productivity, quality, resolution of
issues etc) by recommending and/or implementing changes to existing plans, processes or procedures. Participates
in de ned initiatives to implement location wide changes.
4. SERVICE EXCELLENCE - Supports the Senior Manager in the achievement of ongoing operational excellence and
the optimal Customer Experience.
For assigned areas not covered by corporate processes, (Customer requirements, facility constraints, line-haul,
equipment etc) contributes to the development and/or implementation of local processes and procedures that
maximise e ciencies.
5. EXTERNAL / INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS - As required, supports interactions with external bodies
(transportation authorities, re and emergency departments, customs etc) to gain input, agreement or approval for
actions.
Participates in discussions with employee representative bodies when needed. Includes providing speci c information
relating to new or changing employee or operational requirements.
5. COST CONTROLS - Uses agreed methods and tools to manage speci c elements of the budget (overtime, ODA/OPA
etc) and ensures that all costs are regularly reviewed/controlled within agreed limits.
6. SAFETY AND SECURITY- Manages and controls assigned aspects of safety and security ensuring ongoing
compliance with de ned Company standards and legislative requirements. Includes fostering a safety/security-
focused culture with employees and advising/informing Customers on relevant requirements needed for their speci c
business.
7. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT - Uses de ned performance measurement tools and processes to record and
track required aspects of operational performance (service, people, costs etc). Evaluates results and takes appropriate
actions where issues are not of a systemic or procedural nature. For other issues makes initial
recommendations/provides feedback to enable continuous improvement and improved Customer satisfaction.
Provides accurate and timely verbal and written reporting of results.
8. TEAM ALIGNMENTS - Develops and maintains effective alignments within FedEx, who can facilitate and in uence
problem resolution and goal achievement. Shares relevant information and collaborates to resolve issues and achieve
required results for the business and its Customers.
9. BUSINESS AND CUSTOMER KNOWLEDGE - Develops a good overall understanding of the FedEx business
(systemform, operations, people and nancial processes etc) and key operational processes and systems related to
own area. Uses this knowledge combined with key metrics to engage employees to deliver operational results using
safe, legal and effective methods and practices.
