Minutes of Meeting

Meeting was held at TRIPLAN Pune office to discuss the analysis proposal for pressure vessel and
following members were present during the discussion

1. Background - One of the TRIPLAN customer has replaced the agitator in existing vessel. The
flow analysis and load estimation on new agitator has already been conducted by client and
the report is available. We need to know the feasibility of new agitator from structural
dynamics and vibration perspective. In addition, we have to assess the structural integrity of
existing vessel due to operating loads from new agitator.
2. ENGGDESIGN has already given proposal for modal and FR/harmonic analysis including
theoretical remedies to control the unfavourable conditions
3. To conduct this analysis following data is required to ENGGDESIGN
a. Agitator drawing (required to build the FE model)
b. Drive (motor) and gear box details e.g. speed, type, mode of operation, gear box
weight etc.
c. Drive mounting with vessel
d. Pressure vessel support
e. Inspection report mentioning present thickness of vessel walls
f. clients report for load generated by agitator
g. Any other data required depending on the analysis requirements
4. We will get clear idea of failure mode after initial analysis depending on stress and
deformation values. Therefore, feasibility of fatigue or advanced study can not be predicted
now.
5. It was decided that present analysis proposal is clubbed under stage-1 for which offer has
already been provided to TRIPLAN. Official offer alongwith possible discounts are to be
resubmitted by ENGGDESIGN
6. Advanced analysis will be suggested depending on the result of stage-1. It solely clients
discretion to conduct the said analysis or not. Stage 2 analysis involves advanced study e.g.
durability and fatigue calculations. ENGGDESIGN has to submit a seprate proposal & offer for
the same by 22nd Feb 2018.
7. Meanwhile, it is requested to TRIPLAN to keep seprate budget provision for stage 2
