FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE STUDENTS IN BUYING MEALS

CHAPTER I

Statement of the Problem


The purpose of this study is to know the factors that influence the students in their
decision when choosing their meals to eat. To enlighten this study, researcher will seek to
answer these following questions:

1. What influence the students in buying meals as regards to the following factors:
 Psychological
 Physical
 Social
2. What is the dominant among those factors that influence the students to buy meals?
3. What extent does the dominant factor influence the students to buy meals?

Significance of the Study


The success of this study would be of great advantage to the following beneficiaries:

Administration and Staf. The study can serve as a guide for them to be knowledgeable enough
on how and what extent that the administration will do to fulfill the satisfaction of every
students. In a way that will have a win-win situation.

Canteen Cook and Staf. By understanding this study, it can give them ideas regarding to the
types of preferences that a student need and want. It can be in terms of the food choices, the
ambiance, the staffs itself and etc. They can create new strategies to improve what are needs to
be improved.

Future Researchers. As this research ends, it will leave a remarkable study that could help them
give evidences and information that they seek for. Furthermore, this study will promote more
effective research guidelines.

Scope and Delimitation


This study focuses on discovering the possible factors that affect the students in
choosing meals to buy for. It will be conducted at Fortunato F Halili National Agricultural School,
a vocational school in Guyong, Santa Maria in Division of Bulacan, during the Academic year
2017-2018. The subjects are composed of 10 randomly selected students who will undergo to
an interview composed of questions that seek to answer the influences made regards to
Psychological, Physical and Social factors when buying meals.

The answers will be gathered using the descriptive qualitative research. It is also
important to note as it plays a big role in the researchers study, the locale of the investigation,
the school Canteen of Fortunato F Halili National Agricultural School. As the school offers
Accountancy Business and Management, it is an opportunity for the researchers to get the 10
respondents in this track. However, there are 3 sections from grade 11 and grade 12, therefore
choosing the respondents will still be randomly selected.

The result of the study may be applied in other school canteen or other food business
firms. It can improve their tactics on attracting customer.
CHAPTER II

Definition of terms

Influence- the power to affect or cause someone changes without directly forcing them.
Meals- the food served and eaten especially at one of the customary, regular occasions for
taking food during the day, as breakfast, lunch, or supper.
Physical factors- include external substance that affects students such as environmental,
ambiance, facilities etc.
Psychological factors- include individual-level processes and meanings that influence mental
states.
Social factors- include general factors at the level of human society concerned with social
structure and social processes that become a great impact on the individual.
Conceptual Framework
The system approach (Input- Process- Output system) was used in describing the
conceptual framework of the study. This provides an outline of how the researcher plans to
conduct the research. As shown in the Conceptual Paradigm below, the input consist the
people, place and things that will undergo in the making of this research. The process describe
on how this study will be done. And the output is the overall product of this research.

INPUT
 Competitive researchers that will seek to answer the problem for this research.
 Guide of the researchers’ Teachers to conduct the study properly.
 ABM Students of Fortunato F. Halili National Agricultural School, as they will be the
respondents of the study.
 School Canteen of Fortunato F Halili National Agricultural, as the observation and
treatment of this study will be given in this place.
 Questionnaires for the interview.
 Data presented from specified answers of the participants

PROCESS
1. Collection of the data through questionnaires and interview.
2. Analysis &interpretation of data.
3. Test for significant differences that would happen based on the perception of the
respondents.
4. Formulation of proposed plan on how to improve the school canteen.

OUTPUT
 Suggestions and recommendation
 Action Plan to improve and maintain the canteen a great place for every student.
