The important of sex education for adolescent
Sex education for adolescent is often debated among people, especially in Indonesia.
Indonesian culture influenced the view of the people that sexissomething that inappropriateto
discuss inyoung people. Even among adults there is boundary about discussing sex
mustknowthat sex educationdoes not always leadstosexual activitybetween husband and wife,
but concernsaboutreproductive health. There is no clear government policy even though the
awareness of the importance of adolescent reproductive health (ARH) increased, so the role
of parents is need to fulfill the knowledge of their children about sexuality. Consider the
teenager’s behavior and their life style nowadays, it is important to give them sex education.
Give based knowledge to teenager about sex will help them know about their part of
body specially their natural body function. They wouldknow and understand
abouthowtheyrespond the changes of their body, so they will notfeel strange, shocked,
confused, and even scared. For example when a girl get mestruasion for the first time she
must be feeling shocked and confused even though she has already knew that every girl will
experience it. In this period the roleof mother is do necessary to give her daughter advice
Moreover, adolescence is a period in which they began to try new things and have a
great curiosity about many things including about sexuality. Providing sex education early by
parents will reduce unhealthy curiosity and prevent them to find out the information by their
