American Ideals

Throughout these years america has fought for equality, rights, liberty,

opportunity and democracy. Equality meaning the condition of being equal. Rights

meaning basic condition guaranteed to each person. Liberty meaning the freedom to

think or act without being limited by unnecessary force. Opportunity meaning the

promise that people should have the chance to attain their hopes and dreams.

Democracy meaning a form of government that places in the hands of the people. Have

Americans lived up to the ideals expressed to the Declaration of Independence?

It all started when the european nation wanted to established colonies in the

North America. The european nation wanted to establish colonies to increase their

wealth and power. The reason european countries wanted to establish countries in the

north america because the european countries would have another market to sell and

manufacture their goods to increase wealth. The british started taking control of the

colonies. They would raise taxes, limited their trade, and forced colonist to house british

soldiers in their homes. The colonist fought for their equality and liberty which led to the

american revolution.

United States was splitting into two, the civil war divided nations for the rights

and equality. After the civil war people started moving to the west to have a better life

and have the opportunity to change. People moving to the west by the 19th century.

American cities rapidly progressed with the growth of industry. They needed more
workers so they hired children which was called child labor. Children would work for low

wages. People were upset so the called in a reform with prohibited children to work.

America was expanding so it was time to build a new empire. Then World War 1 came

in 1914 the united states helped support the allies 1917 because the U.S marines first

to fight for democracy.

In 1930’s the americans suffered an economic collapse which was called the

great depression. United States entered World War 2 in 1941 to help defeat the

dictatorship of germany italy, and japan. The United States economy got better in 1950

more jobs were created. During the war america saved 100 billions which they spent on

tv’s, cars, and homes. 1960’s the economy got even better and young people felt that

they had a free spirited attitude. 1776 Fourth of July was the declaration of

independence and celebrated the wisdom of the founding fathers building a democratic

government. This independence meant liberty, equality, rights, opportunity, and

democracy because america has fought for these ideals.

In conclusion, yes the americans have lived their lives to the ideals in expressed

of the declaration of independence because america fought for rights,equality and

liberty. They Also America had the opportunity to find more territories, and had the

opportunity to find a better life. The United States fought for democracy in ww1.
