Sahirah : Mum, I’m home!

Puan Saniah : Hi, dear! How was your exam?

Sahirah : I did well in the exam, Mum.

Puan Saniah : I’m glad to hear that. You have been studying so hard the
past few weeks. Now, you can relax.

Sahirah : What are you baking, Mum? It smells good.

Puan Saniah : I’m baking a cake. It is your favourite strawberry cake.

Sahirah : It looks yummy! What are the ingredients needed to make

it?

Puan Saniah : You’ll need a cup of butter, 4 eggs, 3 cups sifted cake flour,
2½ teaspoons baking powder, a cup of strawberry flavoured
milk and 1 tablespoon vanilla essence. You’ll also need half
cup of strawberry puree.

Sahirah : Then, how to prepare it, Mum?

Puan Saniah : First, you need to preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease the
round cake pan. Then, in a large bowl, mix together the
butter, sugar and strawberry puree until light and fluffy.
Beat the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. After
that, combine the flour, baking powder and the milk. Next,
move the batter into the prepared pan.

Sahirah : How long do we have to bake it, Mum?

Puan Saniah : Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow the
cake to cool in the pan over a wire rack for at least 10
minutes, before tapping out to cool completely.

Sahirah : Thanks Mum. I need to take my shower now.

Puan Saniah : My pleasure.
