Q2: Please describe the operating and management way of the recycling centre, in terms of economic (can it self-
sustain, or purely volunteer-based?), society/charity (where the money from recyclables goes to?), and
environmental aspects. You may start from where the solid waste of the recycling centre come from, how the
recyclables get sorted etc. [3.5%]

 Purely volunteer-based
 Solid waste is put by residents nearby into the recycle centre’s respective recycle container
 Volunteers would then separate the solid waste into their respective categories
 Separated solid waste will then be sold to recycle trading companies
 Profits obtained are used to help the less fortunate
o Help poor students to obtain education
o Donation to the disabled people
Q3: If you are the person-in-charge of the centre, how do you encourage more residents to play their parts? [1%]
 Go to houses to spread awareness on recycling
 Have separate bins for housing areas to separate solid waste - ease the recycling separation process
 Educate students in school on the importance of recycling and put extra emphasis on separating the solid
waste into their respective categories
 Constantly update residents on the recycle centre’s progress
o Let residents know how their recycled waste helped the unfortunate
o Motivate them to recycle more
