February 17-18
From the Minister
MISSION MINDED
Many of you may remember Gail Fielder. Mr. Fielder was one of our longest standing el-
ders before he passed away years ago. Gail and Cletis Fielder were a big part of starting
Capital City Christian Church back in the early 1960’s. I remember he used to say that God
always seemed to bless and honor a church that had a heart for missions. In my 25 years
plus here at CCCC, our missions giving has always been strong. This year’s Faith Promise is
no exception. Each year I’m excited to see our church family step out in faith more and more.
I’m excited to hear stories of how God is making our Faith Promise pledge work. If you have
an exciting testimony of God providing your Faith Promise pledge, please make sure you let
the missions team know. They are looking for testimonies to share this coming year. Praise
the Lord!
But that’s only part of the blessing. I can’t tell you how encouraged I am when I hear testi-
monies of God providing. But writing a check or making an offering on Sunday’s is not the on-
ly responsibility we have to the Great Commission. “Let the Earth Hear His Voice” has been
our Faith Promise theme for the last few years. And to that end we, as the body of Christ,
have been commissioned to share the Gospel of love to the world around us. And as faithful
as any of us can be to our Faith Promise pledge, we should also be encouraged to stretch our-
selves in what we DO. Besides your Faith Promise pledge, how can you share the love of
Christ with the young men at Shepherd’s Inn Ministry? How can you volunteer at Tri-State
Christian Camp? (your preacher is dean of Middle School Camp this summer, so if your seri-
ous about this one he can plug you in.) Can you make a difference in the life of a student at
Johnson University training to be a preacher, a missionary, a school teacher, a youth minister?
How can you impact by serving David Fincher in the Bahamas or Juan Mauricio in Mexico?
Maybe you can serve right here in Tallahassee at The Women’s Pregnancy Center, the Chel-
sea House, or Good Samaritan Network? Or maybe you have found your ministry right here
at CCCC? I absolutely believe God will bless you in your Faith Promise commitment. But we
GROW as a Christ Follower when our faithfulness leads us to SERVE! Love Christ. Love
Others. SERVE!
In His Service,
Allen
In another sense, unexpected storms are what happens sometimes in people’s lives. We may even be-
come panicked, as did the disciples, enough to wonder if our Master cares? There is no need to won-
der and suffer anxiety. Jesus is with us too! The disciples shrank in fear not understanding Jesus’
power and having faith in Him. In contrast, we know Jesus is the Son of God, that He is Divine, and
that He is Almighty Savior! But perhaps we need to remember most how very much He loves us!
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom.
5:8) Jesus loves us too much to let us drown. Sorrow and tribulation will leave us; yet Jesus and His
love is with us forever! Amen!

monetary donations to the pantry by designating ‘Pantry’ on your check and placing it in the offering.
