Effect of Air Swirl in a Single Cylinder DI Diesel Engine With Modified
Inlet Manifold Cause Reduction of Emissions
A.VIJAY KUMAR B.KULLAYA SWAMY
SRI VENKATESWARA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ANANTAPUR
ABSTRACT
The fluid motion in an internal combustion engine is induced during the induction process and later
modified during the compression process. Intake charge enters the combustion chamber through the
intake manifold. Then the kinetic energy of the fluid resulting in turbulence causes rapid mixing of fuel
and air, if the fuel is injected directly into the cylinder. In-cylinder fluid motion governs the flame
propagation in spark-ignition engines, and controls the fuel-air mixing and premixed burning in diesel
engines. Therefore, it is very much essential to understand the in-cylinder fluid motion thoroughly in
order to optimize the combustion chambers of the I.C engines. This paper aims at studying the effect of
air swirl generated by directing the air flow in intake manifold on engine performance. The turbulence
is achieved in the inlet manifold by grooving the inlet manifold with a helical groove of size of 1 mm
width and 2 mm depth of different pitches to direct the air flow.

ABSTRACT
In the present world every country thinking of making their nation secured & safe. The countries which
were developed are investing much on the weapons, communication systems. To strengthen their
strengths. But the countries which were still developing were unable to invest such large investments.
The soldiers in the war wear large weapons, huge weights. So, to solve all these problems a solution is
to be there. Yes, for every problem there will be a solution. Here for this problem the solution is NANO
TECHNOLOGY. With the potential benefits of nanotechnology, both for social and national security
reasons, technologies are in development that enables early detection of hazardous conditions, goods
and human behaviors. Sensing and detection, surveillance, situational awareness, interpretation,
automated scene understanding are crucial aspects. In this paper we present the concept of the future
war weapons, military vehicles, unmanned vehicles & robots, armaments, command & control, soldier
warfare, human performance.
Modeling And Thermal Analysis On Cylinder Fins By Varying The
Geometry
G. ASHOK KUMAR K. YATHISH
SRI VENKATESWARA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ANANTAPUR
ABSTRACT
Generally all the two wheeler motors the cylinder fins are designed with straight fin. But now we are
changing the geometry from straight fins to aerodynamic fins. In aero dynamic fins the rate of heat is
more as compare with the straight fins. The cylinder block with fins is designed by using UNI-
GRAPHICS(NX) software. Thermal analysis is carried by using ANSYS V15.0 software. The main
objective is to perform the Thermal analysis on cylinder which is subjected to high temperature
variations on Fins by varying the geometry and materials. Finally obtained optimum temperature
distribution, heat flux. We can increases the durability of the engine by increasing the rate of heat
transfer.

ABSTRACT
Liquid fuels have over the past 100 years evolved as the fuels of choice for transport because of their
high energy density and the ease of transport, storage and handling. Conventional fuels are complex
mixtures that typically contain more than hundred chemical components whose composition has
changed and evolved over time and in connection to engine development, efficiency and drivability.
Fossil based fuels for propulsion and power generation fuel properties are important criteria from a
combustion point of view to take into consideration to the main purpose of the heat machine, i.e., to
convert chemical power to mechanical power. However, the fuel in an internal combustion engine
undergoes other processes and passes many systems before it is burned, as, and these also have to be
considered. All the systems will influence the fuel and the fuel’s different properties will influence the
systems.

SOLAR POWERED AUTOMATIC DRAIN CLEANER

U.SREEKANTH E. SREEDHAR
GATES INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, GOOTY
ABSTRACT
This project is about replacing the manual work in drainage cleaning by automated system. Now a
days, automation plays a vital role in all industrial applications. Yet, the proper disposal of sewage
from industries is still a challenging task. Drainage pipes are been used for the disposal and
unfortunately sometimes there may be loss of human life while cleaning the blockage in the drainage
pipes. In order to overcome the problems in manual drain cleaning, we are implementing
“AUTOMATIC DRAIN CLEANING SYSTEM”, to clean and control the drainage level .

Fabrication and Performance Evaluation of a Flat Plate Solar Collector

Water Heater
MADHU VADDE ANAND KUMAR

ABSTRACT
Energy is one of the building blocks of modern society. The growth of the modern society has been
fuelled by cheap, abundant energy resources. Solar energy is a form of renewable energy which is
available abundantly and collected unreservedly. In this application of solar energy using flat plate
collector is analysed. The Flat plate solar collector for hot water generation technology is very useful as
it is used for approximately all solar energy applications such as steam and power generation, water
heating, air heating etc. An experimental setup has been developed to investigate the performance of
the solar flat plate collector. Measurements of total direct radiation on the plane of the collector,
ambient temperature, wind speed, water flow rate, and inlet and outlet temperatures of the water inside
the absorber tube are collected and employed in studying the performance of the flat plate collector.
The values of useful heat gain, overall thermal efficiency, instantaneous efficiency and hourly thermal
efficiency are calculated and their variation with time and solar intensity are tabulated.

Solving Transportation Problem Using Excel and C
M. Chaitanya Kishore L. Jaya Prasad
SRINIVASA RAMANUJAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ANANTAPUR

ABSTRACT
Transportation is one of the most vital services in modern society. One of the most important and
successful applications of quantitative analysis to solving business problems has been in the physical
distribution of products, commonly referred to as transportation problems. And it can be defined as to
transport various amounts of a single homogeneous commodity that are initially stored at various
origins, to different destinations in such a way that the total transportation cost is a minimum. In this
article to obtain feasible solution we used NWCR, VAM, LCM in Excel and C-Programming.

An Experimental Investigation of Effect of Fuel Injection Pressure on Diesel

Engine Performance Using Blend of Rapeseed Oil
R. Bhavani Shankar K. Imran
SRINIVASA RAMANUJAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ANANTAPUR
ABSTRACT
Today energy crisis is worldwide because conventional forms of energy supply and consumption are
causing serious economic as well as environment problems. In our country consumption of petroleum
products is increasing day to day resulting in huge gap of demand and supply. Alternative transport fuels
such as Bio fuels, Hydrogen and Natural gas are seen as an option to help the transport sector in
decreasing its dependency on oil and reducing its environment impact.

Liquid Nitrogen Powered Car With out Involving Combustion Process

T.Vamsi Krishna K.Indra Reddy
PVKK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ANANTAPUR
ABSTRACT
Liquid nitrogen is the cheapest, widely produced and most common cryogenic liquid. It is mass
produced in air liquefaction plants. The liquefaction process is very simple in it normal, atmospheric air
is passed through a dust precipitator and pre-cooled using convectional refrigeration techniques. It is
then compressed inside large tube pumps tp about 100 atmospheres and has been cooled to room
temperature it is allowed to expand rapidly through a nozzle into an insulated chamber. By running
several cycles the temperature of the chamber reaches low enough temperatures the air entering it starts
to liquefy. Liquid nitrogen is removed from the chamber by fractional distillation and is stored inside
well insulated Dewar flasks.

Smart e-Cart
Shaik Jabeer C Amrutha
PVKK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ANANTAPUR
ABSTRACT
Smart e-Cart is a modern Eco friendly vehicle. Today Solar power is one of the front runners in the area
of renewable energy resources. Photovoltaic cells are used to convert solar energy in to useful electrical
energy. The objective of this paper is to construct an efficient solar car, for the daily use. Solar car is a
8 reliable and economical car that essentially runs on free renewable solar energy. The paper illustrates
how the charge generated by an array of solar panels is received and its flow in and out of a battery pack
is to be controlled using a micro controller based charge controller to ensure efficient storing of charge
in a battery pack. The stored energy would be divulged to a DC motor which would run the car. The
design of a motor controller to control the car’s speed and forward/reverse direction of motion. The
mechanical construction from scratch of the chassis along with all necessary mechanical systems is
illustrated. Finally the wiring of the electrical system onto the mechanical body is demonstrated.
