April is Autism Awareness month! Officially, April 2nd is World Autism

Fun times at Arklan!
On Friday, May 4th we’ll be celebrating with a day long Dance-a-Thon!
Here’s the dance schedule:
9:30 to 10:30 Kindergarten
10:45 to 11:45 Grades 1, 2 & 3
12:35 to 1:55 Grades 4, 5 & 6
Treats will be available for $1.00 and $2.00. Glow bracelets will also be
available to purchase. All proceeds go towards the benefit of Arklan
students.

It’s going to be a fun, Star Wars themed event!

Music Monday
On Monday, May 7th, the students of Arklan Public School
will once again be celebrating Music Monday, by partici-
pating in a concert which is being repeated all across Can-
ada on the same day. The concert should take place at
about 12:45 on May 7th. The choir will kick off the con-
cert, and all classes in the school (from JK to 6) will be per-
forming.
Family members and friends are invited to attend.

out on tables in the hallway past the
main office. We’ve got jackets, mitts,
gloves, hats, scarves, boots, and many
sweaters!
Review of Transportation Procedures:
School Council and Board Officials have implemented a “Drop-Off and Pick-Up” procedure for our
school that is designed with the safety of students as the top priority. The following diagram illus-
trates the flow of transportation. Please take a moment to review the diagram. Here are a few im-
portant notations:

 The flow of traffic is one-lane only (passing is prohibited!)

 Please load/unload from the passenger side of your vehicle only

 No parking in the pick-up lane

 There is a designated parking area and pick up gate for kindergarten


students

 Other than kindergarten students and their accompanying adult,


please avoid walking through the parked cars and the moving line

 Please be patient! We all want what’s safest for our children!
