.............and chiefs, and cats, and yeah you get the gist.
Welcome old friends and new ones to the world of Monster Hunter. In this
universe you live on an earth like planet set in a feudal era mixed with some steam
punk type feel. We are talking King Arthur feel with guns and the fantasy feel of
giant monsters and threats around every corner. Best way to explain the plot that
most people do not know when they even play is to explain each game.
In the original ps2 Monster Hunter, you are born in the Kokoto Village. The
Elder hears of you wishing to aid and sends you on a quest to prove you are worthy
to be given the job as a Hunter. You gather some materials for village food and
supplies to even beating up a few pests wandering too close to the village. Then
children and villagers start being attacked by Velociprey and the pack leader
velocidrome. You are sent out on your Urgent Quest to slay the leader so the pack
will fall apart and not be a threat. Then bigger wyverns start migrating too close to
the village....you handle them finding out that a giant mountain dragon near a far off
city called Minegarde is scaring the monsters and threatening the city. Now you go
onto online mode where you sign up with three other hunters to repeal the great beast.
Rest is just random quests aiding and once all are done you get a bonus dragon
defenses...you are the hunter who is sent out to get the job done. You get cats to aid
you in cooking and fighting along with Shakalakas who are kind of like tiny
In this roleplaying game everyone can go on hunts but you also get a job in the
city. Some of you can be blacksmiths, some can be merchants, others can be guild
sweethearts who help scout, organize, advertise and pay for the quests, to even being
to be a social and action packed tabletop game. Worlds will be described, all
monsters will be stated and explained, and most of all this will be a free game with a
very simple system. So what are you waiting for, get to work!

Primary Stats
Character Creation is where you will learn how to build your character in minutes.
The Eden Unisystem has various ways of building and playing. For this adaptation book,
we will be using the D10 method along with point assignment. You will not roll your stats,
instead you will spend points on them. The max stat a human can have will be 6 and most
stats should be 2-4. Only one of the attribute stats should be a 6 by rule of thumb....we
don’t want god characters we want ones who have problems in combat to enjoy the
drama and story that comes from being injured or overcoming a tough boss.
Alright so you start with 14 attribute points, this means you will be distributing those
14 points among your 6 core attribute stats. The core stats are Strength, Dexterity,
Constitution, Intelligence, Perception, and Willpower. Each stat is used for specific things.
Best way to remember what is what is strength is swinging, pulling and lifting, Dex is
dodging, shooting, and throwing, Constitution is your body as in health and immunities,
Intelligence is for puzzle solving and building, Perception is being aware and tracking,
First stat would be your life points. This is where your Strength and Constitution
kicks in. You add your strength and Constitution and multiply that number by 4.
Once that is set you would add 10 to that number to get your total life points. An
Once that is set up you want to figure out your Endurance Points. That would
again add your constitution and strength but also add in your will. Once you get the
number you multiply it by 3 and add 5 to the total. The formula example is below...
Your Stamina also known as your spirit power is what you use for attacks and
special powers...say you go into demon blade mode, then you use your Stamina...just
don’t use too much or you become tired and need to make checks in battle to keep on
your feet. Stamina is easy since it is all the attribute points you have so if you are a
The final secondary stat is your speed. This is your constitution plus your
Dexterity multiplied by two. The formular for that one is the following...

Profession/Jobs
Alright so you did the spending part now you get to pick your character’s job or
occupation. Whatever job you pick is what you earn your money with outside of hunts
while in the village. You even get bonuses that aid in the hunts that are related to your
job...if you are a merchant you can earn more money and even cut deals on the fee it costs
to take the hunt. If your a blacksmith you know how to keep that blade sharp. These are
just a few examples of what you can get for bonuses. The following pages will explain
each job, the qualities and skills you gain from taking that job with no cost to points, and
the different things you will be hired for and offered in the village, city or town you are
in.

The job of an Arena Sweetheart is not just a female job. Males can be known as
sweethearts too let’s face it there are both sexes in the village and people can do a lot if they
just look past the jobs that a specific sex does usually.
Now that people understand that let’s get into the gritty detail. The Arena Sweetheart is a
job for those who love to make extra cash along with getting various titles among the people.
Defending a village from a Tigrex can get you a title in your town but won’t be so spread by
word of mouth to others. Now if you were to capture it, sell it to the arena, set up a gladiator
event, sell tickets, and get contenders which can include yourself...then you would be making
a huge profit...gaining the parts afterwards since you are the one in charge, and also become
known among people from various cities and towns. This is one of many jobs that are offered

The Armorsmith is skilled in various talents to counteract specific issues like heat
stroke or freezing to death. They use their talents to make sure hunters and protectors of
the village are able to handle the worst conditions. They are also very skilled with the
hammer along with making indents for slots inside of armor without ruining it’s
protection factor. This allows their forged gems they make to be equipt even in the
toughest armor sets so they have a bit of luck to survive the chaos if they themselves ever

The masters of craft around the village. Not many hunters enjoy guns but give them a
stick and they will swing around like a child on candy. The Blacksmith will know how to
keep his own blades sharp and be use to high temperatures. Many travelers and locals
would know this person as the fixer of blades and would be able to pay or make deals for
his services.

The fisherman is the ones who love to sit around on boats and wait for the perfect
moment. These folk usually gather and train in trapping, and gathering the fish. Some
even have the guts to jump in and use a fishing spear to take down sharks for the rare
hard skin. They are trained swimmers and should not be overlooked.

The Forecaster is the one who makes sure to know what is going on around the local
area. They keep the village safe and aim to increase the defenses of the village. Most

needed to be resolved. They are trained trackers and runners who make sure that only

tasks and jobs and deliver the food or clean tables for the locals who hang out inside the
taverns.

A gunsmith is someone who is skilled in fixing and building guns. They are
more of a support class who keeps their distance and lay down damage and status
shots. Some gunners can use heavy guns to put on shields and lose their movement

ones who have this job tend to never run out of ammo and have better time capturing

Artistic Talent:
A 3 Point Quality. People with the Artistic Talent have remarkably strong souls. Such souls have an
extra 12 mana added to their spiritual life force.
Attractiveness:
1-5 point Quality. 1 point in Attractiveness makes one look normally attractive. 5 points makes
one look like the god/dess of beauty. And everything else in between. Attractiveness adds +1 to
conversation checks for every point.
Charisma:
1-5 point Quality. Charisma allows a person to be more smooth. Gives leadership qualities. Every
point in Charisma adds +1 to tasks involving convincing others of something.
Contacts:
1-10 point Quality. Contacts are people that the character knows. Ranging in usefulness and
living condition, based on how many points of Contacts are taken. Consult the Zombie Master so
details can be worked out.
Hard To Kill:
1-5 Point Quality. A survivor that is hard to kill has an amazing strength. Each point of Hard To Kill
adds +3 to max hit points, and +1 to all survival tests.
Immunity:
7 Point Quality. A character with the Immunity Quality is completely immune to the zombie virus.
She does not carry it, and her immune system destroys it almost instantly upon contraction.
When an immune survivor dies, a d4 is rolled. On a 1 they rise again immediately as a zombie,
otherwise they remain dead. Immune zombies act like any other zombies, only much more weak
due to the virus being killed off by the newly recovered undead body. It is unknown what happens
if one of these zombies survives for an extended period as they are fairly easy to put down.
Moving half as quickly as a normal zombie, and having half the strength.
Nerves Of Steel:
A 3 Point Quality, those with Nerves Of Steel do not take fear checks from anything but the most
frightening of experiences, and even in those situations he gains a +4 to resist the fear.
Photographic Memory:
A 4 Point Quality. Survivors with this amazing skill remember everything and every detail that
they see. They automatically gain a +1 bonus to teaching, and after the 3rd point, their skills cost
1 less experience to increase.
Rep: Each point of Rep is how famous or known you are for some various reason. This is how the
npcs will react to you.
Situational Awareness:
A 2 Point Quality. Characters with this Quality gain a +2 bonus to perception checks to sense
trouble or danger in their immediate surroundings. This also makes them almost impossible to
sneak up on, applying their bonus to stealth task resistance rolls.
Ship:
1 point per level Quality. This person owns a ship of some kind. Either it flies, floats, hovers, or
sinks. Each ship is different and customized to the players liking. Each point gives the player 5
build points for their ship. Ships often have specially made weapons or defenses not found
elsewhere, created by dreamers or bought by the wealthy. Speak in length with the Zombie
Master to discuss your ship and its capabilities.
Ambidextrous:
3 point Quality. An ambidextrous person gains a third free action at no penalty each turn that they
can use to defend themselves with or attack with if using a weapon in each hand.
Fast As Hell:
1 point Quality. Those with this quality are able to take a free shot with their hand gun before
combat begins. This shot is taken only with a 1d10+3 roll, rather than with the normal shot rolls.
Bag of Tricks:
4 point Quality. This person always seems to have the right tool for the right job. It's a little
unnerving. Whenever the player goes out of the safety of the sanctuary, they are assumed to
have a small bag that has all the simple tools someone might need to do simple things. Back at
the base, they have access to a contact that can procure anything... for the right price.
Bilingual:
2 point Quality. This person was raised in a bilingual household and can choose two native
languages at skill 5 for each on creation.
Cloistered:
5 point Quality. Sheltered is not the word to describe these people. Sheltered while being
sequestered is a more apt description. They won't know how to use a VCR, but will be able to tell
you about Quantum Physics better than Steven Hawking (varies person to person). A Cloistered
character can choose a number of skills equal to his Intelligence or Perception (whichever is
higher) and may lower each of these skills up to 5 points even going into the negative values. This
grants them 1-1 skill points to use in other skills.
Green Thumb:
1 point Quality. Adept at growing plant life, any person tasked with growing crops or plants may
roll twice to determine how well the plant grows. They may then choose which outcome.
Jury-Rigging:
3 point Quality. Some people go past a junkyard and see memories of another time, or nothing
but, well, junk. Others see opportunity. Jurry-Riggers are the "Mechanical Opportunists" of the
world and can cobble things together like a boss. When you need a flamethrower, this guy puts
them together with two fire extinguishers and a vacuum tube. When attempting to cannibalize
and jury-rig something, people with this quality roll it twice and take whichever one they want.
Strong Stomach:
2 point Quality. Stomach of Steel? Iron Tummy Casing? This is what these people have. They can
devour slightly spoiled food and even slightly poisonous food. These people can eat mildly toxic
or "off" foods without taking a penalty.
Threat Detection:
3 point Quality. Sometimes you just know when that zombie is about to jump your bones.
Sometimes you just get that feeling that a sniper rifle is pointed at your head. On a successful
perception test, a person with this quality gets a feeling in their gut or breast or brain that danger
is lurking nearby.
Quick Learner:
3 point Quality. Some people just have a knack for things. Choose two skills (or one special).
Every time a player learns a skill he does not know, increase each of these chosen skills by 1 point.
Tireless:
1-3 point Quality. The Tireless do not succumb to sleep deprivation or endurance loss as much as
others. Every point gives her +1 bonus to avoid the effects of sleep deprivation, and adds 9 points
to their endurance.
