INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES FOR ADMISSION UNDER STATE QUOTA


FOR B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. DEGREE PROGRAMMES

1. Candidates are required to apply to CLAT – 2011 Office for All India
Category Seats through online counseling as per the instructions given
on CLAT website.
2. For the State Quota Seats at NALSAR, the procedure is prescribed
below:

4. To be eligible for seats reserved under NALSAR (Amendment) Act No. 6


of 2010 for “Resident Students of Andhra Pradesh”, a candidate
should be a Resident Student of A.P. and should have passed the
qualifying examination from any educational institution in Andhra Pradesh
with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate (45% in case of reserved
categories i.e., S.C. / S.T. / Persons with Disability) and should not be
more than 20 years of age as on July 1, 2011 (22 years in case of S.C. /
S.T. / Persons with Disability). The candidate should also secure
appropriate rank in order of merit in the Common Law Admission
Test-2011.
Statute-V provides that “Resident Student of Andhra Pradesh” means:
i) a student who or any one of his parents has resided in
the State of Andhra Pradesh for a period of atleast four
years; or
ii) a student who has studied in any one of the educational
institutions in the State of Andhra Pradesh for a period of
not less than four years leading to the qualifying
examination.
5. Candidates who have secured State Rank as mentioned below are
provisionally offered admission at NALSAR under State Category seats
subject to their eligibility and completion of admission formalities:

6. Candidates who have secured the above said A.P. State Ranks under
various categories are required to confirm their admission at NALSAR
under State Quota by sending the attached Confirmation Form duly filled-
in and signed along with the following documents to the Registrar, so as to
reach on or before June 20, 2011:

ƒ An amount of Rs. 25,000/- towards deposit for blocking the


seat by way of demand draft drawn in favour of ‘Registrar,
NALSAR payable at Hyderabad’ or by transferring the
amount electronically to Current Account No. 768053142
Indian Bank, Shameerpet Branch, IFSC Code – IDIB
000S166, MICR Code – 500019029.
ƒ Copy of Birth Certificate / SSC or 10th Class Certificate with
Date of Birth
ƒ Copy of 10th Class Marks Statement
ƒ Copy of 12th Class Marks Statement
ƒ Copy of 12th Class Study Certificate and Residence
Certificate in A.P. for a minimum period of four years
ƒ Copy of Character Certificate
ƒ Copy of Transfer Certificate
ƒ Copy of Migration Certificate
ƒ Copy of Caste Certificate, wherever applicable
ƒ Copy of CLAT - 2011 Admit Card
7. The deposit amount of Rs. 25,000/- will be refunded in case if you get a
seat under All India Category as per your merit in any of the NLUs.
8. However, if you fail to take admission for any other reason except as
mentioned in (7) above, the amount will be forfeited.
9. If any candidate fails to send their confirmation and payment on or
before June 20, 2011, he / she will not be considered for admission at
NALSAR under State Category and the vacant seats will be offered to
the next candidates in order of CLAT merit in the relevant State Category.
10. Candidates are required to report for admission at NALSAR University of
Law, Justice City, Shameerpet Campus only on the scheduled date and
time (Schedule will be available on NALSAR website in due course).
11. The following candidates are also required to mail their admit card no.,
name, CLAT Score, Master Rank and A.P. State Rank, contact address,
phone numbers and mail ids to admissions@nalsar.ac.in to enable us to
contact you in case of any vacancy under State Categories arises:

Note :
Allocation of vacant seats to various categories:

If a Resident Student of Andhra Pradesh qualifies for admission in the


regular merit of all India CLAT-2011, he / she shall be considered against
the All India Seat only and not against A.P. State Category Seat. If no
candidate is available against the Seats reserved for Resident Students of
Andhra Pradesh, such Seats shall be added to the relevant Categories
under All India Quota.

The unfilled Seats reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates are assigned
to Scheduled Tribe candidates and vice-versa. If sufficient eligible SC and
ST candidates are not available to fill such Seats, they are reallocated to
General Category candidates in order of CLAT merit. The vacant Seats of
Persons with Disability Category shall be offered to the All India General
Category Candidates only in order of CLAT-2011merit.

herewith a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 25,000/- or proof of electronic transfer
made to NALSAR University Account along with the documents as mentioned in
the instructions. I will be attending the Interview on the scheduled date to be
notified by the University on its website. I understand if I fail to take admission for
any reason, the amount of Rs. 25,000/- paid by me shall stand forfeited by
NALSAR.
