FOR THE
TEACHERS
I
n preparing for the Bible Study Class, all Bible study class

teachers should personally study the outline in preparation

for the cell meeting. You can also visit the Pastor Chris Digital

Library to listen to the audio/video message.

During the meeting, please ensure your members have their Bibles

and all the Scriptures in the outline are read; members have to look

into their Bibles while the Scriptures are read for proper assimila-

tion.

In addition, don’t rush through the subject as you teach;

remember that our intention is to have every member of the class

understand the subject matter so that they can understand what

the Bible teaches on the subject.

Last month, we studied on the topic 7 Gifts of God in Christ. This

month, we would study The 7 Factors for Spiritual Advancement;

this topic is timely because it’s our year of the Supernatural and

to function completely in the grace of this year, you have to grow

spiritually. The topic would be covered in two classes as stated be-

low:

1 7 FACTORS FOR SPIRITUAL ADVANCEMENT

Part 1 (March Week 2)
This part focusses on the importance of making Spiritual

Advancement and a study of the first three (3) Factors, which

are:

1. Demonstrate your love (Christ’s love) copiously in

knowledge and discernment.

2. Approve and prize excellence.

3. Be sincere, untainted, unsullied.

Part 2 (March Week 3)

This part focusses on the completion of our study of the topic

‘‘7 Factors for Spiritual Advancement’’ by learning the remain-

ing four (4) factors, which are:

4. Give no offence or cause anyone to stumble.

5. Be filled with the fruits of righteousness.

6. Stand firm and strive together in partnership for the success

of the gospel.

7. Never be frightened by your adversaries.

2 7 FACTORS FOR SPIRITUAL ADVANCEMENT

Part 1 (March Week 2)
Making spiritual advancement as a Christian is very important and this is

because the spiritual controls the physical. It doesn’t matter how wonderful your

life is, if you have problems spiritually, it won’t be long before every other area

is jeopardized, because your spiritual life controls everything about you. This is

why our study today: “7 Factors for Spiritual Advancement” is so important.

The first three Factors for Spiritual Advancement are clearly stated in Philippians

1:9-10 (KJV) which says: “And this I pray that your love may abound yet more

and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that ye may approve things that are

excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ”.

3 7 FACTORS FOR SPIRITUAL ADVANCEMENT

DEMONSTRATE
YOUR LOVE (CHRIST’S LOVE)
COPIOUSLY IN KNOWLEDGE AND DISCERNMENT
Philippians 1:9a (AMP): “And this I pray: that your love may abound yet more

and more and extend to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight

[that your love may display itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more

comprehensive discernment].”

C
hristianity is walking in the Love of Christ: expressing and manifesting

His Love in a dark and cynical world; howbeit, with the knowledge of

God’s Word and discernment. Sometimes it may seem difficult to love, but in

Luke Chapter 6:35 (KJV), the Bible says: “But love ye your enemies, and do good,

and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall

be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.”

This scripture encapsulates God’s expectation when he instructs us to love.

Consciously express the Love of Jesus to those around you. The Bible says in

John 13:35 (NLT), “Your love for one another would prove to the world that you

are my disciples”. Preaching the Gospel isn’t only when you talk to a sinner; you

preach the Gospel with your life every day, no matter who you’re dealing with.

And the Gospel is Christ alive in you: His Love seen, heard, expressed and expe-

rienced by others through you.

4 7 FACTORS FOR SPIRITUAL ADVANCEMENT
APPROVE AND PRIZE EXCELLENCE
Philippians 1:10a (KJV): “…That ye may approve things that are excellent…”

E
xcellence is to distinguish oneself; to stand out and surpass laid down stan-

dards; to do something to a greater degree than the normal or required

standards. Excellence separates you from others; we see this in Daniel 6:3 (KJV)-

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an ex-

cellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.”

Choose to be excellent in all that you do; make a conscious effort to improve your

mind by studying the right materials and going the extra mile to get things done

perfectly. The Holy Spirit is in you to make you excellent. Jesus said, “But the

Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he

shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever

I have said unto you” John 14:26 (KJV). As long as you yield to Him and do the

things He tells you, your life will be excellent and full of glory.

5 7 FACTORS FOR SPIRITUAL ADVANCEMENT

BE SINCERE, UNTAINTED, UNSULLIED
Philippians 1:10 (KJV): “...that ye may be sincere and without offence till the

day of Christ”.

N
ow that you are a new man in Christ, put away the old nature.

2 Corinthians 4:1-2 (KJV) says: “Therefore seeing we have this ministry,

as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of

dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully;

but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s con-

science in the sight of God.” Base your life and daily activities on the things of

God. Don’t find yourself behaving like an unbeliever; let there be a distinction

between you and others who have not received Christ.

2 Peter 3:14 (KJV) says “Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things,

be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blame-

less.” The scripture above shows us the expected character of a believer, telling

us to be diligent. Diligence means to be faithful, careful and efficient.

Remember that you are the light of the world; therefore, let your light shine out

everywhere you go such that people would see Christ in you. Let your colleagues,

friends, neighbors and all who are associated with you know you as a person of

integrity. This way they can rely on your words and judgment, which would

lead to prosperity.

CONCLUSION

T
hese things are very easy to do if only we walk in the Spirit and in

accordance with the Word of God. Consciously appreciate those around

you and express the love of Jesus to them. Never use words that hurt and

demean people. Communicate excellently with others without destroying their

self-image or making them feel sorry for themselves.

In addition to this be exceptional and industrious; do not follow short cuts just

to complete a Job on time. These are the simple things that have great impact on

your Spiritual Advancement.
