Students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge on blind contour drawing
by creating a drawing from a still life without picking up their pencil.
Students will be able to create a color scheme that includes just three colors
from their previous knowledge on the color wheel.

Materials and Resources


- Black paper
- Oil Pastels
Management of the Instructional Environment
- Students are aware of the classroom rules that were given to them by the
teacher at the beginning of the year.
- Students have assigned seating and are aware of the teachers
expectations.

Technology Integration
- Powerpoint Presentation on Contour Lines.

Diversity and Equity (Accommodations, Modifications, Adaptations)


- Practicing with students to help them understand contour lines with a
visual. This can accommodate ELS students as well as students with
ADD.

Activities/Procedures
Day 1 (One hour class period)
- Students will come into the classroom and sit at their assigned seat.
- The Teacher will begin a brief presentation on contour lines.
- The teacher will then hand out white boards. The powerpoint will have
slides that the students will practice their contour lines (They will get 1
minute for each photo.)
- The teacher will have a still life set up at their table that the students will
be working from. The teacher will pass out the black piece of paper and
the oil pastels.
- The students will have the rest of class to complete the contour line part
of their drawing.
Day 2 (One hour class period)
- Students will come into the classroom and sit at their assigned seat.
- The teacher will hand back their papers and they will begin filling in the
shapes they made with color with oil pastels.
- The students will have the rest of class to complete this.
