PE 20 (Period 2) – Floor Hockey Lesson Plan

during the opening ceremonies.
 Opening ceremonies will take place after your team
practice, and then we will play the games. After all, 5
rounds are played, I will tally up the scores and we
will have a closing ceremony where the winners will
be announced, and medals will be given. These
medals are not for anyone to keep; they are my old
soccer medals – a delicacy. If the winning team
wants, they can have a team picture at this time!

o Win: 3 points
o Tie: 2 points
o Loss: 1 point
o Best Cheer: 5 points
o Best Sportsmanship: 5 points
o Best Celly’s: 5 points
 I will be watching during the games who has the
most creative, enthusiastic, and inclusive celly’s
(must include all teammates).
 I will also be watching for which teams are
displaying the best sportsmanship out on the ice.

 Now I will announce the teams. Once I call your
name and pinnie colour, you can grab a pinnie, a
stick, and a couple of balls and begin your team
practice. Remember to come up with a clever team
name and cheer!
 Announce teams and let everyone start practicing.

when they have 1 minute left.
 Gather students into a semi-circle.
5-7 mins.  Go around the circle as each team tells us their
name and shows off their cheer.
 Once done, delegate which teams are playing and
